Does Geely/Proton manufacturing a C-segment sedan car like the Proton S70/Geely Emgrand on a compact B-segment (hatchback) unibody automobile platform, create instability or other chassis problems, especially in the long run.? Similarly for the M-segment Proton X50 and X70 SUV.

The Proton S70 is likely a Malaysian C-segment car built on a Tongsan B-segment or Geely's BMA (adjustable and extendable) platform, as mentioned by MyProLife above.

Note that Proton and Perodua have government protection through higher excise duties for Honda, Toyota and other non-national cars.

Also, Honda, Toyota and etc have cut their profit margin, in order to minimize the price difference with competing Proton and Perodua cars in the same car-segment, to about RM10k to RM20k.

In the case of Proton S70, Proton has likely also cut it's profit margin, in order to out-compete Honda Civic in the same C-segment and to market the S70 as "customers buying a C-segment Proton car for the price of a B-segment non-national car like the Honda City and Toyota Vios". .......

I was referring to Proton's history of marketing the C-segment Proton Inspira in 2010 as "customers buying a C-segment Proton car for the price of a B-segment non-national car", which Proton has recently repeated with the X70 and S70.
