Hi all
I am currently on UNIFI and the ZTE modem is in the enclosed storeroom of my 3 storey house. LAN 1 of the modem is connected to a switch/patch panel 1 in the storeroom linking a wall port which I connect a router at level 1.

How do I use the LAN 2-3-4 of the modem? Do I connect it to switch/patch panel? Patch panel 2 and 3 each runs to level 2 and 3 wall port.

I don’t think I can connect the router in level 1 to level 2 and 3 and there is no way linking back to patch panel in store room

Thanks

Yes. ONU.

Any advice how should I connect so Level 2 and Level 3 Ethernet port is working? If would be better if I can put a Wired Mesh router on Level 2 and 3

Storeroom : UNIFI ZTE Modem, Patch Panel
Level 1: Ethernet Port (1 port only) > WiFi Router ASUS
Level 2: Ethernet Port (1 port only)
Level 3: Ethernet Port (1 port only)

Ports other than LAN1 on modem can't be used. LAN1 connects to router as you already know.

Since your patch panel is in the store room, you'll need to put the router there. No need switch. Only 3 ports in the patch panel right?

If your Asus wifi is good then maybe get a no-wifi router for the store room and use your Asus just for the wifi at one of the floors.

Each router or access point you install on levels 2 and 3 should be configured to operate in Access Point mode. This ensures that they are extending the network rather than creating a separate one.

With this setup, you can provide network access on all three levels of your house, and devices connected to any of the LAN ports on the ZTE modem (LAN 1, LAN 2, LAN 3, LAN 4) will have access to the same network.

Update. I am planning for this solution. As I have a telephone port next to the LAN port on the wall, I realised they are also using 8 core cables and connected to patch panel. Most probably I will
Convert this as LAN out from router back to patch panel, and then to other floors.
