Hi all,

Currently with TM 100Mbps fibre broadband plan. Old (ZTE) modem and router (RG Dlink WBR2300) was given by TM.

Please recommend a new setup to take advantage of the (temporary) speed increase of 300Mbps..

Thanks.

Wow that D-Link is absolutely ancient

Did you not get any new hardware with the speed upgrade?

Do also provide the model of the ZTE

New hardware? No, this is regarding the most recent upgrade announcement. Don't think TM offered to swap existing hardware, did they?

It's a ZTE F620.

Budget? Anyway, as the above forummer mentioned, AX20 should do just fine. I myself thinking should I get it just for wifi 6 https://s.lazada.com.my/l.mWP4

How much are you paying now? Possible to resubscribe at a cheaper or same price? Then can get free router from TM.

Or renew your contract to get a free router.

The current free DLink Wifi6 router not bad.

: You may need to check with your Internet Service Provider ™ if your existing modem/ONT can support the higher speeds. If not, they might provide you with a compatible modem/ONT for the 300Mbps plan.

Router: The D-Link WBR-2300 is quite outdated, and it may not be capable of handling a 300Mbps connection effectively. Consider investing in a new router that supports higher speeds and provides better overall performance. Look for a router with at least AC1750 or AC1900 Wi-Fi standards, which are suitable for your plan. Brands like Asus, TP-Link, Netgear, and Linksys offer good options.

Sign new contract with TM and get new router or buy your own. I think best value for money is mercusys. Blacktubi did a review

And 11.11 sale is incoming, better add a few shop's router into cart, mark down the price, check the shop vc daily.
Collect bank vc(normally 100-xx), then go for lower price + reliable shop sharp 11.11 0.00 AM, done.

Both are fine
Lazada may have Lazada Bonus which slices a chunk off the price
But Shopee also has its crazy vouchers or rebate now

I'm not loyal to either of them, just buy whatever gives me the best deal
