Good companies are also retrenching here and there...
some of them do provide reskilling and upskilling but only for existing and long term employees which they think worth to retain.

You are better off getting hold of your own life and making it happen rather than waiting for some company to provide you reskilling/retraining.

Have a plan to accumulate the cash needed to send yourself for a course if have to. If you're gonna be new in that line, pay willl be low coz due to lack of experience... if you're willling to change then have the patience to climb back up the ladder under a new skilllset.

1 year is good enough rest and time for you to think of what you wanna do. Mean time maybe do a side gig if you need to earn and support yourself. But if you got the cash to sign up for the course you want.. then go for it...
