That's a risk that you'll need to consider. For me, it's a no no until I see the offer letter. If the new company wants me to tender asap so that I can join them asap...then they should provide the offer letter asap as well.
Not sure why need to do background check first then only can give offer letter. Most of the time I see would be offer letter first then only background check. This post has been edited by Duckies: Oct 16 2023, 04:09 PM |

No I agree, that part is fine. I'm not tendering til I saw the offer and signed.
The concern here is that in between your tendering until your new start date, there is the background check...and what if something gets screwed up during that period...hope you get the point. |

QUOTE(RavagerX @ Oct 16 2023, 04:19 PM) No I agree, that part is fine. I'm not tendering til I saw the offer and signed. There is no guarantee in life. That's all I have to say. If you are afraid of the risk then just stay in the current company. Looking from your new company perspective...it don't make sense to let you go into the company then only do background check right? What if the candidate is something with bad background? The concern here is that in between your tendering until your new start date, there is the background check...and what if something gets screwed up during that period...hope you get the point. |

Very simple option
Don't tender your resignation until get the offer letter. Be firm on that... U want me, give offer letter first... |
