I tried making a fund transfer from IBKR to Maybank but was told that i need to get a Correspondence Bank in order to make the transfer. The Maybank SWIFT code isnt accepted by IBKR. I called and spoke to Maybank and they couldnt provide a solution.

Has anybody here done such a transfer from IBKR to Maybank? Please advice.

No. But I have experience transfering money overseas and I got a shock at the amount they charge. Cause all Asian banks have a intermediate bank that also take a cut of the money. So you need to know who is that intermediate bank is.

Unker just want to let you know that:
1) the swift code is not complete
2) you can have a swift code by asking the branch/telephone
3) not worth to have USD/MYR transfer…go open a multicurrency account

As per my post, the SWIFT code is not the issue. Even with multi currency there is still the need to do the first conversion to USD. Im only withdrawing funds years down the road.

Fyi, I did a test transfer from my TD Ameritrade US account to my Maybank MFCA account. USD to USD. No issues. Only needed Maybank Swift code - MBBEMYKL, and all the other standard stuff - account number, reason, etc…

Excuse me for digging your old reply.

It is possible for you to let us know of the fees incur for transactions? Between Maybank MFCA.

Quite intrigue.

Hmm, seems intriguing.

See if there is any hidden fees and some currency rate.

Intriguing
