someone just shared this with me - turns out, there are platforms overseas where you can buy a share of a house someone is staying in. Malaysians love investing in property so much, how comes this is not a thing here? what do you guys think?

eh, isn't this less complicated? no need to nego with seller, deal with agents and lawyers, pay legal fees/stamp duty for each individual property...etc?

This reminds me to that one pitch in Shark Tank where the idea was dismissed outright due to complication and potential lawsuit that may arise.

In Malaysia, how many properties remain frozen due to too many names. Who will own that particular property in the end. Who will you sell your portion to if you want out.

Joint name purchase or set up company to purchase is nothing new in this country. Like "co-living" is old wine in new bottle.

There are in msia but in small private groups.

Open or public invitation requires relevant govt dept approval.
