Planning to buy old car, either IS250 or GS300. My criteria is Toyota reliability, V6 with rear wheel drive. Below RM 50k. Pretty much narrowed it down to these 2. I see GS300 is a bigger car, should be more comfortable, but much cheaper than IS250? Why is it so? Is GS300 not a better car than IS250? I am gravitating towards GS300, although I prefer the looks of IS250. Is GS300 harder to find spare parts compared to IS250?

Get Toyota Mark X facelift.... underneath still GS. Me driving 2011 pre-facelift... worth every penny.

GS450h owner here. In terms of luxury and comfort, go for the GS. If paying for the roadtax is your main concern, than the IS is your option. GS is cheaper because the GRS 191 is an old model and no longer in production.

Cannot help, but just want to make sure you already know where to service/repair the car if it eventually needs repairs.

Personally prefer GS300. But have to be careful with buying big CC cars today as next year fuel subsidy will be removed, making our cost per litre around RM 3.50/L.

Thanks for all your input. I think the biggest deal breaker for me is that GS300 has well over RM2000 in roadtax per year! I have just put my downpayment for the IS250 today. Consider this thread closed. Thanks again guys!

Thanks..Need advice In term of reliability no need look for others except for Lexus. GS300 in final facelift model 2018~2020 using 2.0T engine (replace GS200t), not V6 3L as per previous generation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_GSBTW, Japan recon unit got 180km/h speed limit due to JDM rule. If want 250km/h either get tuner to open speed cut or get ori CBU unit from UMW Malaysia.

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Feb 18 2025, 12:11 PM) E60 would be the best choice E60 petrol version sadly a lot of electronics issue nowadays due to aging, unless owner can accept diesel model (lesser issues). There are very rare quantity of 530d/535d E60 around Malaysia and usually these units got driven very high mileage due to very less issues.
