Hi,

I am thinking to upgrade from 150cc scooter (Vario150) to higher CC and shortlisted between XMax 250 or wait for ADV350(probably launched end of 2023). So, i am requesting some comments or advices.

I'm commuting to work daily... short trip (Ampang-KLCC) city ride ... and imagining to join long ride (to Phuket/Krabi) occasionally or weekend trip for running event nationwide

Erm.. adv350. Be prepared for this *pricey* maxi scooter. Most probably buyers need about 35krm to own this baby.
As the Forza 350 (NSS350) already priced @ 30k rm.
In SG, its already available for 12k SGD pre COE.. sweat.gif

Some more, it will most likely equiped with 250cc engine( just like the latest Xmax). Due to the bike class license problems. This year I think BSH wont bring this adv 350 to bolehland. May b next year la.

At the 70k rm range.. I doubt it can compete with Jap maxi scooter.
I know that kymco did produce some models for kawa & BMW..

Take a look at Modenas Elegan EX (250cc). It is a re-badged from Kymco X-town 250i. Kymco makes scooters for Kawasaki (the J300) and some BMWs.

I ride 2018 Honda PCX150 (the keyless version) which has the same engine as your Vario 150. I bought Modenas Elegan EX after also considered WMOTO RT3, Xmax and Forza. The Xmax V2 was not out yet but I knew the new one is coming at that time (but dont know when) so I did not choose the Xmax V1. The Forza waiting time is too long, I did tested the Forza 300 and would be my choice than the 250. The RT3 has reports of problems on the road, requires more trouble shooting than other scooters, a big no no to me.

I managed to test the latest Xmax V2, and I think the Elegan EX is on the sweet spot between price, comfort and performance. It is now my daily ride and my son is riding the PCX150.

The Elegan 250cc was launched in 2017 in Malaysia, and to me that is good to show that it is a reliable engine.

So how was it? Riding experience. Ease of use, tires, spares and services. Usage in heavy traffic, usage on highway. Standard questions.

I can say I enjoy the ride throughout 1 month+ of ownership.
It is easy to maneuver but it is real heavy when idle/parking.
Stock tyre is China brand CST but good enough on dry n wet roads.

Spare parts can get from local authorized service centres and they get from KTM kedah factory (also depends on availability). You may check on zontes malaysia website for service centres.
Typical service is 3k mileage intervals and basic items cost around RM 150-200 (engine oil, filter, gear oil)

Due to its wide body, lane filtering in heavy traffic is quite a challenge if you used to ride kapcai. For highway, it is stable and can go beyond 120kph without vibration on the handle bar.

Anyhow, there will be soon a test ride session by eang chun if you are around klang valley. Do wait for their notice.

We sneakily went out to DUKE when Eang Chun had a test ride session last month. Went up to about 146kmh with still throttle space to twist. Fill up fuel RM1 for cover up. tongue.gif

I prefer the feel of Model E compared to Model D. Probably because unker instinct kicked in, I guess...

Yes, definitely other brands (Yamaha/Honda) would be cheaper but my concern is with spare parts if it breakdown while riding in Thailand.

Any comments or experiences with other brands scooter breakdown in Thailand/Singapore?
