As per whatsapp from the solar company engineering team, my roof structure cannot support the weight of the solar panels

"Kayu ni boleh pecah kalau kita drill, bila da masuk L + railing + panel , possibility utk kayu tu mengepak dan pecah tinggi tu".

Someone from kuching shared his experience that the handful of solar installers here in kuching have no business in doing residential solar project. Don't even know which inverter to buy.

Wait it out until west malaysia companies come to us. Fuck sarawak style and their slow ass adoption

Actually in Kuching or Sarawak, their electric charges is still very very cheap. Like 30 cent per kWh at the highest rate. So there is little point going Solar there unless you are really a big consumption.

Actually in Sarawak with 31.5 cent per kWh, it’s okay  to buy direct. And don’t need solar. Coz even if u use 2000 units, it’s just about rm600++. Here if use 2000 units, it’s about 1.3k.

what impact the most of losses is the cable size.

Currently doing my homework on getting a suitable system for my home. Just read through 5x pages of comments 😵‍💫 (bit pening kepala). House is 3 phase.

This is the setup i am looking to go with:

TRINA vertex 605W N-type Bi Facial x16
Hoymiles HMT 2000 4T x4

Am leaning towards the above microinverter type because the panels will have to be laid in 3 different direction - North, South & East.

Hopefully sifus can help explain the following which i still am not clear on:

Is there such a thing as 1 phase / 3 phase for micro inverters? I read the thread that you can direct each micro inverter to a differece phase but if i have 4 microinverters - it means 1:1:2 setup? Any pros & cons to this?

Is hoymiles a goos brand? Asides from Hoymiles, any other recommended brands?

What is clipping and the ideal ratio?

That device is call a switch...  but it stops both incoming and outgoing. there is no 1 way flow valve for AC.

Haha.. anyway it is not so simple even if TnB main is switch off. The inverter of the common PV system is not that capable in balancing the output load to general household appliances.
It is very good in maximizing the solar power generation though.
That's why it is either compliment by our TnB feed or a battery system

Imagine there is no TnB and battery to buffer. So if you suddenly turn on aircond or the refrigerator compressor kicks in, the extra power draw will dip the voltage and cause trip.
The opposite is suddenly the sun is much brighter, the additional current may spoil your appliances.

Actually, thanks for the Solis recommendation, I just noticed it is cheaper than Deye.....

5 of the Deye quotations = USD 2350 per inverter........so.....what do you think?
