Since many have experience with solar here, i would like to ask.

i've heard some feedback from few different solar provider/installer on their home. Feedback received is the power generated from solar, differs from the power received in TNB based on the power written on the electricity bills. Is this normal?

Example: Generate 600kWh seen in the app, but in TNB bill only show received 300-400kWh?

Yes normal. Because some of the energy generated get consumed before feeding the excess back into the grid.

But as far as i know, there isn't any battery pack and the system flow, suppose, whatever generated, will flow to TNB, then electric source come direct from TNB? What they said is, this flow, even if power outage from TNB, even your house have solar, also will be affected immediately.

What u generate is from panel rating or actual fed back to network ?

I've yet to install, just feedback from existing users, from different provider. It is the reading from the app by the provider.

its not 1 to 1 thing

So, what you mean is that its common? But what are the % of what is generated as compared to received by TNB? Or what is the % lost during the transmission or so?

Do you know the reasoning behind(if there is any)?

It is not LOSS. your production is feed into your DB, where it get distributed to the appliances. When u produce, Tnb meter won’t import because u have another source of electricity (solar). And when u produce more than u use, the extra gets pushed to Tnb as export.

Only night time, u need to feed from Tnb 100%.

Good to know, i didn't know it worked that way without any battery storage. The electricity generated will be used throught DB before being sent back to TNB.

Yes. This.

Will it accumulate? I thought those excess will be "earned" by TNB and not accumulated for consumer?

What I love about solar export is.

When u generates ur own power, tnb won't track it
They only track what u have use.
So for ppl who use solar to lower down their electricity
They still being charge the lower tier price only

aha, so we're not bound by the max 10kWp stated by government? LOL. Would it be illegal to install more?

Quite useful tered. Why is it in /k lol

Going to pay booking next week.
5kW system with 3 phase Huawei Hybrid Inverter & 5.4kW Trina Vertex S+ panels.

After doing extensive reading, this Huawei Hybrid Inverter is the bomb if it’s the same price as non hybrid string inverters. Built in AFCI. 10 years warranty (installer says it’s 1 to 1 swap), option to plug in their HV batteries and supported ones — argument that it’s proprietary is silly. You can still install AC coupled batteries as with normal string inverters if you want.

What I’ve noticed about many installers is that the panels and inverters they use are seasonal. E.g. one company used to sell Canadian Solar panels and now moved to Longi exclusively. And they are also phasing out string inverters and going for Hoymiles micro inverters.

Which brings me to the conclusion that, when selling you the system they can tell you 12 years warranty and 25 years performance guarantee or whatever, but if they stop carrying or selling the brand, or the distributor stops distributing the brand. Your warranty is just words on paper.

Huawei is distributed by themselves in Malaysia. Gigantic company, and I am confident with the warranty they offer. No idea about panels. Any panel manufacturer has presence in MY? Trina konon partner with TNB. Don’t know what that actually means. Probably just GSPARX using their panels.

EMIT SOLAR also using inverters with AFCI built-in based on the following datasheet.

While, this is their panel.

Any comment about EMIT based on their products above?

You can request to have it installed on the balcony ceiling if your house have one brows.gif

Check out Deep Blue 4.0 for better efficiency!

As a buyer you can choose provider that offer the latest panels/inverters. So many RPVSP out there for you to choose from.

not being lazy but do you have any reference on RPVSP that uses newer technology? I tried looking at the list of authorised provider but not able to get what i needed.
