QUOTE(bee88 @ Mar 1 2024, 03:33 PM) Okay so your main concern is if solar is really reliable and won’t rosak after 11 years. bro you seem knowledgeable. im interested in investing in solar now but got no idea about it.Solar component got two main part that might give u problem and cost a significant amount to repair or replace. 1. Inverter 2. Panel For maintenance, like cleaning, we keep it to another discussion if u want to know later. For inverter, the warranty is 5 years for string and 12 years for micro. These two warranty can be extended to 10 and 25 years respectively. So yes, for string, u most likely need to replace in year 11, cos it’s almost at the end of its lifespan. For micro it can last longer than that. So to be safe, choose micro. When the manufacturer can promise that long, it means the item can really last that long most of the time. 2. For panel, warranty is usually 25 years. So it’s a non issue. In order for you to have these warranty, it’s advisable to get from reputable or those who are already long in the solar game and have solid performance. This one you will need to do some homework like getting their ssm to check out their company health. If you want to be in so detailed lah. So , as long the company has solid ground, your warranty should cover 10 years at least. Meanwhile, another thing is to make sure the Roi is well within 10 years. If can get between 5-7 years is still quite a good one. That’s why the price is a big factor here. Once ur roi met and achieved, u no longer rugi kan. And u don’t need to worry about warranty anymore if shit happens. Once ur roi is achieved, u don’t need to worry 11th year anymore. Coz 11 years onwards, u should expect to cough up a little bit more for battery storage system anyway. And the cycle continues until ur roi is met again. is there any company that you can recommend so that i can start from there? cincai search google will get companies like plus xolar, gsparx, and some solar solar companies. my usage were typically 800+- but last month due to cny and freakin hot weather it hits 1000+- |

QUOTE(rjc.rj @ May 5 2024, 03:16 PM) Any idea hoymilles 2000 microinverter , is it compatible with battery, as nem only last 10 years , and we are on our own after that with lfp battery getting more denser thanks to ev, after 10 years we could probably power up a 1hp aircond with just few units of battery for 8 hours |

QUOTE(skywardsword @ Nov 5 2024, 08:03 PM) Solaris rebate is a no brainer for gov. solaris or not, the 8% is there to stay. no differenceBasically that will be returned back to tnb/gov when we import electricity from tnb. So even if the import<export, we still get charge 8% sst. In 8 years. Every month example, the bill I see is rm40-70. When it should be zero.(Import =export). Rm50*96months=rm4800. |

recently recommended pathgreen to my aunt 9.84kWp @ 30k with 25years micro inverter warranty and trina 615W solar panel. another friend also pathgreen but 12.3kWp @ 35k also with 25 years micro inverter warranty. expected to install on 27th march, tnb activation around 2 weeks so should be able to make it for solaris rebate. bee88 liked this post

QUOTE(klganes @ Mar 11 2025, 07:20 PM) Have you paid deposit bro? Reading through the thread most of them have not so good experience with them, with delays and not responsive. Hope you get good sales and after sales person from PG. yes deposit paid. i personally also use their solar without solaris rebate. just 1 month too early so sad.so far is ok lah, im using 14.52kWh and i can get 1.4MWh per month. but you are right though. the person i got my system with apparently is a regional manager as recommended by bee88 but his response was very lackluster. i asked him to give me another contact and that one was great as he replied in timely manner. |

QUOTE(bee88 @ Mar 11 2025, 07:27 PM) thx for your recommendations boss.micro inverter does make a difference because my neighbor installed bigger 20% kwp system (string inverter) than mine and on hot days, the difference was exactly as per kwp figure. but on rainy months, our difference was smaller maybe around 10% only |
