I got two friends living at close vicinity with solar panels installed.
11.5kw and 6.4kw. Both string inverter April TNB bill shows 890kwh and 396kwh respectively And this figure appear to be peak of what their system is producing. Is this considered ok? |

On topic of Off-Grid solar + battery set up.
Assuming I have total of total 4kwh consumption a day, peak power draw of 0.5kw during equipment power up. My calculation says I would need: 1. 100AH battery 2. 2 x 500w solar panel If I throw in 50% DOD (Depth of Discharge), that makes it 150AH battery required. Is my calculation about right? Or 100ah is actually enough because during day time usage, most of the time the 2 solar panel will be powering the equipment and charging the battery. There's diesel generation running 12 hours everyday so effectively the battery will get recharged with the generator power. |
