I was quoted 8 panels for 18k and 12 panels for 23k. Although 8 panel is sufficed for my use, but the per kwp costs too high so i opt for 12 panels system instead. Got spare capacity for future EV.

To give u some idea, a panel usually cost 600-800. An inverter maybe 2k something. If my maths are correct, their profit margin is 100%

This I have to disagree.

U haven’t include  labour, accessories, and the inverter he has is 3 units. And each unit is about 2k like what u said.
For string the margin is higher.  For micro is smaller margin.

It can be 100% though, if the system u get is at a very very steep price.

I dont think microinverter is worthy of its price and trouble.
I highly doubt solar installers will provide high end panels, so 800 is a very safe number. To give u some idea, I could get 550w panels for 600.
Accesories are cheap, labour cost I assume 3 pax, 100 ringgit a day. 5 days work. 1500. Definitely the margin is on the higher end, surely we can get better bang for the buck in the future

Quite useful tered. Why is it in /k lol

Going to pay booking next week.
5kW system with 3 phase Huawei Hybrid Inverter & 5.4kW Trina Vertex S+ panels.

After doing extensive reading, this Huawei Hybrid Inverter is the bomb if it’s the same price as non hybrid string inverters. Built in AFCI. 10 years warranty (installer says it’s 1 to 1 swap), option to plug in their HV batteries and supported ones — argument that it’s proprietary is silly. You can still install AC coupled batteries as with normal string inverters if you want.

What I’ve noticed about many installers is that the panels and inverters they use are seasonal. E.g. one company used to sell Canadian Solar panels and now moved to Longi exclusively. And they are also phasing out string inverters and going for Hoymiles micro inverters.

Which brings me to the conclusion that, when selling you the system they can tell you 12 years warranty and 25 years performance guarantee or whatever, but if they stop carrying or selling the brand, or the distributor stops distributing the brand. Your warranty is just words on paper.

Huawei is distributed by themselves in Malaysia. Gigantic company, and I am confident with the warranty they offer. No idea about panels. Any panel manufacturer has presence in MY? Trina konon partner with TNB. Don’t know what that actually means. Probably just GSPARX using their panels.

Can you share the price with us?

Not much sense to go for microinverters imo, harder to repair and probably harder to troubleshoot since they are located on your roofs.

EMIT SOLAR also using inverters with AFCI built-in based on the following datasheet.

While, this is their panel.

Any comment about EMIT based on their products above?

The panels looks outdated.
There are panels right now upto 600+ watts.

N-type is better but probably overkill.
