If my landed property has a big compound can I just put the solar panels there?
*
No, NEM Rakyat has a clause that says must be mounted on roof top!
QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 28 2024, 05:13 PM)
Interested to know. BTW 10k system enuf for 700kWh/30days?
*
1 guy already offering 9.5k before the 2k rebate for 2.3kW but am not going to share here because many of us feel he LCLY.
2kW inverter average about +-200kW/month based on KV but north will be slightly better!

Why must be on the roof?

Why don't you called SEDA tomorrow? brows.gif 1001 reasons but I think should be safety, a small 6x450W string will total 2700W or more at it's peak.

imo, might be complicated
& am not sure can be expand the nem quota at later time coz u will be declared the needed quota with ur existing acc at the application time.
*
Actually can apply to upgrade NEM Rakyat upto 6kW for single phase & 12kW for 3 phase if currently below that threshold.

is 4kWAC = max 4kWp panels i can install on my roof based on NEM 3.0 ?
*
For Single phase maximum 5.0kWac/6.8kWp under NEM Rakyat
Means you can installed 5kW inverter and upto 6800W panel but they are not so strict on this.

Estimated KV +-9000kW & north will be above 10k! Also dependent on your rooftop positioning. brand of panels & inverter types!

besides the electricity generation portion, how about the heat underneath the rooms in the topmost floor? does it become cooler due to the panel absorbing most of the heat?

If it can help save your cost on tnb bill the rest just take as bonus or installed more kW switched on aircon 24/7 brows.gif
QUOTE(Learjet35 @ Mar 31 2024, 02:37 PM)
My Tnb bill is averaging from 2k-3k. This would be a life changing.
*
If tnb bill so high the 4k does not make much difference, consider as angpow only from madani!

If u have a Tnb bill about 2k -3k, solar can help u save of course. But u will still get the icpt charges. Unless u follow my friend way. Let me pm u on this.
*
No need PM la. Sharing is caring. I guess he goes maximum 12kW on NEM & add another hybrid inverter with battery to offset the high usage!

my current bill is RM 300. plan to buy EV model Y. so what is the recommended Capacity solary ? 5KWp max ? can we install aftermarket battery ?
*
If buying EV better asked TNB to change to 3 phase!

QUOTE(ronnie @ Apr 1 2024, 07:54 AM)
the max kW is cap by the capacity of the inverter's kW rating, right ?
Do providers typically size the inverter higher or lower than the total panels kWp ?
*
1:1.1 to 1:1.3 depending on roof area available.
QUOTE(ccschua @ Apr 1 2024, 10:56 AM)
can I know what is the price from 5Kwp with Huawei inverter ?

Just curious, why must me Huawei?

Huawei is battery ready after the NEM, can store in battery. Solis does not have this feature right.

for 4.5KWp, i m quoted around 22k
*
Depends on model, you need to find out if it's IEC61727 compliant, otherwise SEDA might reject. Most brands have both String/Hybrid. My advice is not to get get Huawei Hybrid, it can only communicate with their own battery brand if I am not mistaken.

Depends on how you want your setup be. Don’t let the installer dictate what you should get. You should decide what you want. I would prefer a ratio as close to 1:1

Usually they will give 1:1.3 or 1:1.25.

The higher the ratio, the higher the clipping, and in Malaysia weather, you don’t need such high clipping.
*
I don't agree with you on this. Clipping you need to see the inverters specification. Never models can even accept ratio up to 1:1.3 for panels. For our weather this will greatly help during the rainy seasons. Panels price is at thier lowest currently so no need to stinged on it.

Hi sifus. Read all 40 pages of the thread and now considering to install solar at my place. Appreciate if any sifus can PM me on where to start? Engaged some company already and awaiting their reply. My tnb bills average 500-600+ every month. Also I’m not sure my house is using 1 phase or 3 phase system. Thank you in advance.
*
Look at your MCB, if got 3 is 3 phase! Where is your location? You can also search SEDA website for RPVSP near you to get some obligation free quotes for a start!
Search RPVSP

Single Phase Solar System
3.45kWp RM15,000.00

• N-Type Bifacial TOPCon 575W Half-cut Monocrystalline PV Modules Canadian Solar brand (Tier 1 Solar PV panel; China)

• Hoymiles Microinverter (China)

Is this a good deal ?
*
Did they breakdown how many hoymiles you are getting? Model no? Single or 3 phase?

Harga yahudi.

Prices for entire system incl installation is around RM2.8k per kwp now. For larger systems can go to sub Rm2.5k

Yours is >Rm4k/kwp. Even though it's small system, it's way too high. Either go larger system or look for other installer
*
Micro inverter price is around this bracket but still can get some discount.

Want to ask, after I install solar panel, if it generate let's say 500 kwh, will it first deduct the highest tier rate in the TNB bill or the lowest tier rate first?

I remember there were some uproar about TNB will first deduct from lowest tier first if I am not mistaken not long ago
*
They will calculate usage first then only deduct ranting.gif

I am quite tempted to apply for solar. Do i only engage those provider listed in this website based in my state to be entitle for the solaris rebate?
https://www.seda.gov.my/directory/registere...ider-directory/

Any good recommendation for Penang state?
*
The company that signed off your NEM must be from this list, does not matter if it's in KL or JB but some people prefer same state thinking that it will be easier to claim for warranty or for service purpose.
