May production very bad.. all these while my bill never exceed rm25, may bill suddenly almost rm80

Super hot whole day and night yet not much sunlight for the solar panel to be effective. Solar app reported 1065kWh production for May

Last month I even had 170kWh of baki NEM
I wonder if this chatgpt report is correct based on what I fed info?

Need to compare with your previous bill.

For my case this month my bill rm100+ comparedto my usual rm30+

Cos i added 1 new PC and also many aircon usage. Generation still the same compared to past months, still very consistent. Just my import increase.

I always recommend ppl to choose the highest possible system. Your consumption will only increase. It will never decrease Unless u already got kids that will leave your nest in the next 5 years.

Mine, from PG too. 7.38kW system. The highest ever generated was 42.07kWh on that particular day.

The micro inverter can peak out at 2.04kW per micro inverter or 6.12kW max for all 3 micro inverters. It won't go any higher.

i did a quick check based on the TNB calculator

for normal users with 1200kWh usage, TOU 10% peak vs 70% will result different in bill about RM30

while for NEM users, import 1200kWh, export 800kWh, TOU 10% peak vs 70% will result different in bill only about RM3, but both are about cheaper than using flat rate for about RM10
*
Heard TOU public holiday n weekend considered off-peak... really.

As long export can match import the bill increment is minimal

Tnb probably realized, just like Australia's case.

Solar adoption can make them lose money big time, if it is over their peak generation peak consumption limits. Since the generation plant running fuel, have a peak efficiency that it runs at, they always try to run at peak efficiency. Hence, they roll out time of use, cap the NEM, and make it flat 1:1, plus additional charges.

Overall, we need them to be on the game...or the cascade will be equally spectacular.

Further if Tnb is reading here, pls adopt Wind generation farms. When raining wind still can generate.

Or get the residential to adopt Wind generation.
I like those tube like wind generation, looks great!
*
About wind generation. The main problem with malaysia, which also is malaysia unique point. Less wind. Thats what i observed compared to overseas. Our air flow is very bad here.

I thought I explained to you before on the offsets mechanisms
*
actually still don't quite get it. sry sry. lol i always have difficulties understanding stuffs like these.

Here i found one of my previous bill that have the closest import export value with my latest bill (new tariff). I see the only difference is the kapasiti charge thing? i also pay lower tax somehow.

Top is new tariff.
Bottom is old tariff.

the only thing new is the RM10 peruncitan thingie

Other than that, is one to one offset

but last time is one lump sum rates like 52sen/kwh, now split to 3 that add up to about 44sen/kwh

last time NEM TNB offset at the higher tariff bracket first so most users will be charge based on 22sen/kwh etc based on lowest bracket for the net import

but now since is flat rates of 44sen/kwh, any net import will base on 44sen/kwh hence most users will experience big increase if their net import is a lot

so the new bill calculation is like 44sen/kwh x net import + RM10 + SST + KWBTT

although got EEI rebate now but most NEM users cannot enjoyed as most of the rebate will be deducted back
*
Okay i finally understood.

To keep things ultra simple. we used to pay 22sen/kwh nett import. Now changed to 44sen/kwh. The effect is larger the higher your nett import .

Then those who have surplus getting affected also. Because no more negative billing, so the excess energy cannot be used to offset all the caj (SST, KWBTT, RM10)

This will lead to the situation where.
a) RM600 monthly bill ppl who installed RM400 solar system. Their monthly bill supposed to be RM200 end up become RM400. So ROI doubled.
b) RM600 monthly bill ppl who installed RM600 solar system. Their monthly bill supposed to be RM0. End up have to pay SST+KWBTT+RM10 minimum. So ROI kind of increased about 3%

End of the day. The more your nett import, the more it affects the ROI which is exponential somehow.

the new billing so so so complicated...
until now i also dunno how to calculate it.
*
no need headache.

The only part that u need to see is Import - Export. Then the amount darab 44sen. Then u add SST + KWTBB . ignore all other numbers.

The only difference from old tariff is 22sen/kwh raised to 44sen/kwh for nett import. For simplicity sake. Ignore those tiered tiered bullshit. just average it out. Your ROI not going to change much unless your nett import is above 300kwh

I wonder why PMX can said no increase in majority bil… probably the solar user are the minority which impacted by bill increase

Correct.

Solar adopter = minority = rich = madani

wait until warranty over... and you gona pray hard that your cabling and inverter is still working well  biggrin.gif
a friend of mine.. install during the first batch NEW... has replace inverter twice and he told me.. what ever gain now return back to seller  cry.gif
i myself install... since my inverter come with 12 years... i just can hope.. the company survive  laugh.gif
*
not tired meh living with so much negativity?

Your car depreciation value alone easily outweight your solar installation and maintenance. Havent even factor in the regular tyre and oil change etc.

If u worry so much about things breaking down u should avoid buying a car. Give u much better peace of mind compared to worrying about solar inverter rosak.

So far okay lah. Fingers crossed.

The inverter itself is ip68 anyway.

I think the problem with electronic outdoor is the moisture that causes condensation from temperature difference or sudden change (rain etc).

It would usually  happen if the ip68 seal isn’t properly done. If it’s done right, it’s an uncommon occurrence.
*
interestingly the "seal" is known to degrade with time. faster if exposed to environment.

I am still very surprised to hear about studies showing microinverter can last longer than string. Logically quite impossible.
