No need colour, just Wifi Laserjet with black white monochrome is ok.

Brother lo, cheapest and longest lasting per toner. Like can print 1000+ pages. But all brands the same wan la, depends on what features you want like scanning. Check toner price on shopee first some toner can be quite expensive

With the price might as well get a inktank inkjet printer. The cost of ink is even lower, and you get to use color just in case.

Inktank printer comes with its own problems, especially if you don't use often. For my canon inkjet, it's the waste ink pad replacement, blocked printheads and air pocket in the ink hoses. You can DIY to rectify them but it's still a chore. For laser printers, it practically is maintenance free.

I have both at home.

Means you never use laser printer before lo. Ink printer if long time no print printhead will dry out and out of alignment plus will have lines. Laser dont have all these maintenance, plus no messy fill ups. Ink also last very short time need to refill again. The Brother I bought with the first toner lasted me 5 years man. Really can print a lot with one toner cartridge. Easy to bring around also, inktank sucks to transport.

Currently using a Fuji xerox laser printer heavily for 5 years already, been replacing using 3rd party toner bought from lasada. No issues whatsoever. Now itch want to try inktank printer since the ori color ink is quite cheap. Only RM15 per original ink bottle which can last 3000 to 6000 prints.

Ink tank printer is only logical for people that prints everyday. Seriously its not really maintenance free. Laser is the best in this department. But it is still not cheap to own a color laser printer. Refillable mono laser printer is already available for quite a while. But its not cheap.

Im using brother 1210w. Toner using the aftermarket. Rm12/catridge. Almost 3years and still perform well. Im a heavy user. Print more than 100pages per day. Monthly using 2-3catridge. Also can connect using iprint apps. So can print directly using phone.

I switched from HP colour laser (m251n i think, 2010 or earlier) due to now-unreliable mechanical (gear inside will fail at boot, at random) AND becoming-too-expensive for new toner, reaching RM4xx/colour. this printer now relegated to focus b&w-only, if it decides to play. no double-side printing, need module add-on.

Switched to Canon LBP623cdw colour laser, as that was the double-side model immediately available in Penang retail market during MCO in 2021. yeah, by then, already learnt double-side is a must for heavy-duty "home" printing. But damned, i check just now in Shopee, toner 054H is already reaching RM4xx/colour as well....

I am not a fan of 3rd-party refilled toner. I had been using original toners, right until the HP starts acting up with its gears at random. Starting the HP printer is playing roulette; will it reach "Ready" state or will it error.
My experience with using refilled, 3rd-party toner with the HP in the last 2 replacements was not encouraging. Maybe because I order through Shopee, and still haven't found a reliable brand and supplier. I will not do that with the Canon.

samsung mono laser. still using the 8yo ML2160. cartridge lasts for yrs. by now on 3rd cartridge only

Epson ads say inkjet is more eco friendly as it consume less electricity and also their print head very durable.
They even have copier sized machines using inkjet tech.

So I guess the technology for inkjet is better now?

it's a manageable "risk" if you keep clearing it through continuous printing.

I am using Brother HL-1210W, so far so good.

My mono Canon laser printer is 10 years old. I have been using 3rd party toners after the starter toner ran out of "ink". No error or incompatibility issue. Some toner may cause streaks after a while (only experienced this once) but replacement toner is RM20 thereabout jer.

Do expect to encounter issues every now and then. You'll need to learn to clear print heads by soaking them in warm water or clear air lock in the print heads (ink won't flow from tank to cartridge via pipe) by manually injecting ink into the cartridge to prime it.

Been using brother laser monochrome wifi for years. No complains and price competitive.

Any good color laser printer to recommend? Need all in one function, duplex print and scan, 2 tray for A4 and B5, cheap 3rd party toner availability.
