not necessarily. USB-C memang designed to be a loose spec connector. so people can keep adding to the spec without changing the cable.

for example thunderbolt and type c uses the same connector but still different.

then there's the confusing naming scheme that usb-if association fucked us over with. usb gen 1 gen 2 3.1 3.2 etc.
and then there's this.

this whole apple issue is like a "normal" type c cable vs an e-mark type c came.

24 pin one also got.
epal definitely dah ready to go to court and claim got so many types of usb c, this is our implementation knncb... and EU will lose

That 5 pin and 4 pin is related to what previously called USB2 and USB3, nothing to to do with overheat in charging but just the data speed.

For me, Apple is just not being honest in the issue. Probably it is just something that can be fixed with firmware upgrade.

charger or cable im confused

China can get their phone charge really fast and Apple does not to be left behind but they probably has not master the way to do it and try to give excuse. When overhear, Apple throttle the power even down to 5W charging speed according to one article doing testing on it.

Now even got cable for charging only. Cannot use for data. If you use this cable, then phone cannot even manage charging speed because no signalling sent to phone. This cable safe for standard low power charger, I suppose. Otherwise will overheat and damage phone or battery.

kek datang lagi all salah epal

padahal the USBC standards used by other phones have always been flaunting the USBC standards in first place

look at this table and see how many variations of "USBC standard"

Whichever USB version is just the spec defined by USB.org like what is the max speed of data transfer and max current the cable can carry. How much is the charging current to the phone is controlled by the phone based on chipset and firmware put on the phone by manufacturer. The chipset will automatically control the max charge current used by the phone. It does not matter if the charger can go up to 100W and the phone can accept just 25W.

The USB-C is just a type of connector that can support high data and current rate.

Here is the chart:

lol did they not admit they purposely slowing down older gen iphone? this isnt the first dishonesty. the only thing iSheep can do is to use money to cover their stupidity.

Isnt EU wanted to standardize all charging cable to prevent waste and reduce carbon footprint?

I read that the new iPhone 15 the charger will charge to 80% by default said to extend battery life.
