QUOTE(rsangel @ Aug 30 2008, 12:23 AM) Yup, the TViX DVB-T tuner is with HD. So it's called HD Tuner as well. Got mine for the 4100 for Rm300. Do you know how much is it for the 6500 version?Added on August 30, 2008, 10:32 am QUOTE(rx330 @ Aug 29 2008, 02:18 PM) jack, no issues, i email them, and they call me up yesterday, nice guy Should be 1 year warranty and you shld be in good hands. Yes, they do seem to be OK and that's why I plan to meet them to discuss more on some of the issues on the box and hopefully they push DVICO for more firmware revision. we have arrange to meet up tomorrow at on of their distributors hopefully they can settle it for me, dunno abt the warranty period of the tuner, but i bought it last year november, i think tat time they just launch it also, so if its 1 year warranty ,then im safe i suppose This post has been edited by Jack28HT: Aug 30 2008, 10:32 AM |

the tuner for the 4100 should be the same as 6500. by the way, does the tuner has a card slot? like for the astro thing?
Added on August 30, 2008, 3:37 pmgonna go and pick up the m6500A.....any concern using the WD 1TB green power HDD in it? other choice are seagate and samsung Added on August 31, 2008, 5:13 amquick question, for the firmware upgrade, i just create the folder on the HDD and copy the firmware to the folder and run setup? also, anyone has setup this thing in similar config like following? not sure how this would work TVIX and another network device (eg PS3) to a switch, then to the home network, the other end is a WLAN router before the pc. no card slot, u just plug in the thing to the back of the unit.
HDD shudnt be a probelm, but make sure u partition, just in csase something goes wrong, i did not partition my 500gb though, and the repair process dem long fw upgrade is easy, dl fw, put in hdd folder, locate and run it mine is tvix wired, ps3 wireless, imac wireless all to the router so my tvix is streaming movies from my imac, and i would suggest u to get a NAS for the tvix as well as PS3 (NAS with tversity) |

NAS is like storage device attached with our network
mm... 3.5" HDD => LAN => PC, Dvico, Notebook, blar blar blar is a network storage for you to share ur data, so Dvico can actually get the movie source from NAS and play it on ur LCD TV / Plasma abigs doesn't have HDMI port :( |

how is the setup like? are there any other hardware needed?
the newer abigs has HDMI output. my 1 year old abigs has a DVI-HDMI cable. my plan is to link everything via LAN. there's HDD in the media players and the PC is upstairs with more HDD. so the plan is just to be able to transfer files over the LAN , dont really need it to stream. i noticed there's a 1Gbps connection available on the M6500A....then again, my wlan router is not gigabit.
well, i still need to get all the devices connected via LAN before anything happens..... stream or not, that's next question...for the time being....transferring the files into the internal HDD seems most stable...at least to me..... rx330...how is your setup like? |
