I spent hours googling but apparently firehost has this data type called "reference" which is like foreign key but i didnt manage to find a way to link up two tables using it.

Personal opinion : Before thinking why other people using loop / how to do foreign key link, You may look into what are nosql strong point, It may not designed as the way what you want to use. MatQuasar liked this post

Don't treat NoSQL like relational. NoSQL is trading performance with development time. Different kind of NoSQL have their own data structure thus only suitable for specific use case. Often you need to maintain the integrity yourself. For starting out, go with relational database and pair with NoSQL for the kind of specific data that you absolutely need high performance. As a real life example, with proper optimization & indexing, I can just get PostgeSQL to churn out hundred thousand of rows with several joins within seconds, in a single core container.
