just wanna confirm with you guys, is the ThermalRight IFX 14 THE BEST amongst all other air coolers?

QUOTE(IcEMoCHa @ Dec 26 2007, 04:39 PM) thanks for the reply man.due to my antec casing thats very tight due to the noise dampening features and the way how the TT BT VX cools the cpu, its creating condensation of hot air inside my case, and if i have my cpu on load over 50% for over 5-8 hours, it'll drop dead and blue screen due to overheat (bout 90ish celcius built up over time) so i definitely need something to have better air outtake to solve this issue, i believe either the thermalright ultra or IFX14 or even xigmatek would solve it since it exhaust air outwards and not blow downwards like the TT BT VX. thing with the xigmatek is that the cooler is so much cheaper and yet it can produce results similiar to TR ultra, and ultra is just a tad bit below IFX14, so im still in doubt. anymore inputs in this regards? |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 27 2007, 12:25 AM) Well, i'd certainly go for the xigmatek, the price is cheap but it performs at the same level as Ultra 120 Ex. thing is the TT BT VX and the xigmatek is just about the same price and if im gonna get another heatsink, i might as well upgrade it and not "sidegrade". if you get what i mean right there. yes, i do know that in my case the xigmatek would prolly perform much better, as ive mentioned, its creating air condensation in my casing :/Although IFX is teh best on performance and aesthetics, but don't forget about the price and the size. I'd certainly don't want that bulky heatsink in my system. Seriously. Well, both type of heatsink that is blow out [Ultra 120] and blow down [Bigthyphoon] has it's own pro's and con's. The blow out heatsink can help exhausting the hot air out of the casing directly, that's a good thing, however, the weakness, it doesn't help in cooling those hot pwm's and some other stuff on the motherboard. While those blow down type of heatsink does help in cooling the PWM's and some other stuff on the motherboard but it's weakness, it always blow back to the system and does not help much in exhausting the hot air in the system. Both types of heatsink has it's own pro's and con's. if im using an open naked setup, or a casing that has much better exhaust systems, then TT BT VX would prolly still be good or even better than xigmatek(though i doubt it) but at the end of the day is the IFX is still confirmed the best right? (aesthetics prolly not lol, so DAMN BIG >_<) |

QUOTE(skylineGTR @ Dec 27 2007, 01:45 PM) not really into WC, takes up more space (in which i dont really have if you've seen my whole pc/workspace setup), requiring maintainence(same could be said for air cooling to clean off dusts etc, but its a LOT less hassle), and most importantly, i dont have 1k+ atm to blow to get a good WC system. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Feb 15 2008, 01:28 PM) imho the fan doesnt justify the cooler....main advantage of downdraft coolers compared to towers is that it helps to cool down the surrounding components on the mobo as well. with a cooler that thick...i doubt the air will be able to reach the mobo components.... it can be blown sides just like towersand i so want the TR SI-128SE. dont think inter asia gonna bring it in |
