Added on February 24, 2008, 2:23 amscythe ninja copper? whoa..that's gonna be sweet. I'm using the normal ninja with aluminium fins and I already feel like its the best CPU cooler vs price I ever had. Now they finally make a copper version? it must be really chilly if you put on a powerful 120mm fan. great temps!~

Not much lower lor bro. From my experience this copper Ninja's performance not much different with fan
or without fan laugh.gif laugh.gif This was made specially for the silent freaks! biggrin.gif Its much dependent on the
surround temp.With included 800rpm(normally running at 400rpm sweat.gif ) it can go 2-3°C down.
Maybe the king of the silent PC biggrin.gif But must have good airflow inside the casing though.

I specially ordered the HSF from Japan. biggrin.gif This is Scythe 5th anniversary special Ninja. Cannot find it
easily unless u stay in Japan or US. Not sure if somebody can bring it in here.

If you read the review I included there, this copper Ninja not for a powerful fan.
More to the silent side, Not much different using a very slow rpm or high rpm fan.
Best for silent setup since u can run it passive even with OCed processor.
It beat the ultra 120 extreme in silent. But not when u add a fan. biggrin.gif
And the price is not as cheap as the normal ninja. since it's all COPPER. biggrin.gif

copper is a good heat transfer materials, but not good in dissipating the heat to the air compared to Alu. i believe by using active mode (adding fan), it will help the copper to dissipate the heat to the air.

IMHO, ur casing which is CM690 got good airflow. with a lot of intake and exhaust fans, its help ur copper ninja to cool down. maybe thats why u can't see major diff when u mount fan to ur copper ninja...nod.gif

woot.... thumbup.gif aluminium is better in dissipation than copper? rclxms.gif dude, been to chemistry class before? Copper is rated higher than aluminium in the table of heat conductors. By the way, copper is an excellent heat transfer material, and it dissipates heat much more better aluminium. Just that with copper, because the rate of heat transfer is higher, there has to be constant air blowing at it to keep it cool. ALuminium on the other hand has a slower rate of heat transfer thus it might "look" as though its doing a good job in dissipating heat, but hell no.

Copper for sure got better thermal conductivity than alu. Yeap I agree with u bro my CM690 good airflow
help my copper Ninja. biggrin.gif Ninja designed to stand with a very little airflow. Thus its equipped with low rpm fan. Never tried using higher rpm fan. I believe its not gonna be major change. Just what the review said. I prefer silent system.Thats why I bought this Ninja. Might try with the 1200rpm fan later to see the different. Thats the fastest 12cm fan I got. sweat.gif

Kataro ~ Pentium D 820 @ 2.8GHz ~ 1.33Volts ~ Noctua NH-U12F ~ Idle 46°C, Load 66°C ~ LGA775

just finish run orthos again for 30 minutes since last time running it... laugh.gif nothing much different from last time... sweat.gif

Last time apply my TIM using drop method, how careless I am, din check the manual carefully, causing it to be high temp... shakehead.gif sweat.gif I just remember that dual core proc should apply in different way and I have reapply it using a line of TIM way on 16 Feb 2008...here is the result of Orthos for 40 minutes I just run...

Kataro ~ Pentium D 820 @ 2.8GHz ~ 1.33Volts ~ Noctua NH-U12F ~ Idle 43°C, Load 57°C ~ LGA775

rclxms.gif impressive, 9C drop on load...3C drop on idle...from this lesson, again told us that apply the TIM incorrect will lead to higher temp... laugh.gif

bro shawty, please update my idle and load temp...thanks.... notworthy.gif icon_rolleyes.gif laugh.gif
