My York air conditioner which is about 15 years old needs to be replaced soon. I live in a condo whereby the copper piping is concealed in the wall.

Is there any brand/model of new modern air conditioner which can reuse my existing copper piping?

It will be a great hassle and disruptive for me to hack the wall to change the piping.

i also thinking to change air cond 1.0 daikin or inverter, but current one more than 10years. Buy from shoppe with 250 installation fee not sure the installation included conceal the piping or not. Will ask more the shoppe seller

Just reuse. If it leak further ahead then only worry about it.

previously the aircond installer do tell me can reuse if i wan change from r22 to r32.....
but need to clean up the old piping "oil" from previous aircond....
not sure call is "vacumm o flush" o what d....
otherwise, he say the aircond wont last long....not sure true o not...

R32 pressure is 1.5 times higher than R22, leak is going to happen when you use pump R32 gas in R22 pipe

If TS wanted to save few hundred ringgit and bet the leak wouldn’t occur in few years, just wish good luck.

FYI, many Aircon installers in Malaysia use low quality pipe, and many installers don’t follow standard installation set by Aircon manufacturers.

If you think your current old Aircon uses high quality pipe and high standards installation, then go ahead and take the risk.

no idea as the installer recommend to change living room old aircond when i change bedroom back to back aircond......
didnt proceed to change the living room aircond...
dont want to let my son used to full time aircond coz primary school only using fan at noon session..

TS concern are about hacking the conceal installation, i guess?
if normal back to back installation, even without change copper oso dont think installer will discount much....

Hack & pay now or hack & pay later.... is a matter when you want to face the inconveniences.

If you reuse the old piping, you pay for gas top up if it leaks.

For me, if is very old piping, I will reuse.
