" No new equipment will be provided to the customer for any speed. "

those going from 100 to 300 to 500 and so on sure no problem because they already fitted with capable equipment before. but those going from 30mbps to 100mbps surely needed a better router to make use of the massive speed upgrade lol. i knew i needed a new one because the crappy adsl router they gave me for 30mbps were replaced with wifi6 certified router when i opted for speed upgrade.

it's not the usage pattern will radical sudden change....

neighbour upgrade perabot, kita juga mesti upgrade perabot.
number of bontots sitting on the cushion is still the same, won't suddenly pop out a new bontot overnight...

i dont get it, whats the different between having a strong mesh network and FTTR? do they connect each of the child node wired from the main router?

This is like my ideal setup where each room have a AP for near perfect wireless connection. Only difference is backhaul is fiber instead of copper ethernet cable.
*
whats the benefit of having fiber as private home/residence backhaul as oppose to ethernet? i dont think the ethernet cable speed is anywhere near being maximized by gigabit connection? or its just small latency improvement that casual users wont even notice lol

imagine this:

those that previously lamented and sighed wireless mesh weren't exactly a solution and that they can't hack wall or drill holes because of condo/multi-storey house/renovated/permanent fixtures/permanent furnitures/etc etc to do wired backhaul, now can lay invisible fibres along their wall, without even hacking or drilling.

expensive? yes.
satisifed? should be.

*
oh damn you werent kidding when you said the fibre is invisible, i thought it would have some kind of layering protection like when they pulled it from the the main fiber box

Mind is 100mbps, waiting to 300mbps

it seems like 100mbps users are low priority for unifi at the moment. pretty much majority of users reporting on upgrade has been 30mbps and 300mbps users.

Only upgrade to 500mbps down baru ada 100mbps upload

what TM has against symmetrical DL/UL speed? shouldn't that be the main advantages of fiber? i know people usually dont use it but leaving the tap open doesnt really hurt them either way if thats the case tbh
