Guys,

I’m on 800mbps plan + ultimate tv pack + unlimited call plan for RM159.

Received a call from TM today around 4pm offering me free upgrade to 2gbps plan with same tv and call pack and no price increase but with a condition to renew with 2 years contract.

While the TM agent was explaining that all 800mbps users are categorised under 1gbps (umbrella / category) the line got disconnected and didn’t receive a call back after that.

Anyone else got similar call as me?

Is it Preptual ?

Yes it’s perpetual as per my current plan.

The fact is that I’m anxiously waiting for a call back dunno the offer is legit or not since the call got disconnected half way thru.

I won’t be surprise if 800mbps users (turbo upgrade) will be upgraded to 2gbps plans due to:-

1) I received a call call today on this which was disconnected half way thru while the lady was explaining to me.

2) All 800mbps (Turbo upgrade) was offered this speed instead of 10X as during that time max speed was 800mbps only back in 2018 so to be fair we were considered 1gbps plan users back then but since TM infra only had max speed of 800mbps that time so it’s fair to compensate us to 2gbps current speed.

Maybe the existing 800mbps (Non turbo upgrade customers will get 1gbps and turbo upgrade customers will get 2gbps) that’s my 2 cents 🤓

Info from TM insider:- All existing SWU plans will not be entitled for speed upgrade. The speed upgrade is only offered to existing customers whom are active on their current plans for 6 months.

To all existing 800mbos subscribers, hold your horses…
We are not able to see or check the upgrade eligibility as it requires CPE equipment upgrade and it will be done only in January 2024 onwards.

TM playing smart. Will bound to 2 years contract for new equipment and cannot reject the speed upgrade.

I told them I’m using my own high end Asus router and they said they will put remark in system.

Just finished visiting TM Point Titiwangsa. No queue at all and I was attended instantly.

TM staff has confirmed that all 800 mbps plan users will be upgraded. It doesnt matter wether you are on turbo upgrade or any other campaign plan, all will be upgraded.

The focus now is to upgrade those recent customers whom walk in and took the latest plans. I’m on turbo upgrade plan and we are all legacy plan users. According to her, for turbo uograde 800mbps plan users the upgrade will surely happen but not sure wither to 1gbps or 2gbps because by default we were suppose to be upgraded to 1gbps back in 2018 but since TM infra back then only could cater to 800mbps max speed so we were all packed to that category.

So the bottom line is all will be upgraded. Attached Image

They offered you 2Gbps upgrade ?

Nope they didn’t comment on anything. That’s why none of the 800mbps legacy plan users have got the banner on the upgrade eligibility as the decision lies with TM management. For sure, we will be upgraded but to 1GBPS/ 2GBpS they can’t confirm for now.

If you want to speed up the upgrade, call TM and tell them that you’re using your own high end router and provide them the router name, brand and model so that they will update in the system because in their system they have details of the last stock router TM provided you hence that’s why the delay to upgrade existing 800mbps users.

If your own router brand and model is compatible TM will fast track ur upgrade process coz you are not dependent on their CPE equipment.

For those 800mbps users due for upgrade. TMUnifi has removed the statement upgrade will be done beginning 2024 onwards.

According to TM flying squad, TM has already start upgrading 800 mbps users.
