guys, quick question on the lan cable.
I bought a 50m long Cat6 cable 3 years back from subtel, that time was thinking to pull the cable but somehow i didnt do it and at the end it keeps in my storage, today i take it out and wanted to try the speed but it somehow capped at 100mbps, could it be due to the cable too long or probably the wire were dmg (but it's actually never been used before).

Should i cut it off and place a new rj45, any suggestion?

Yup. So far, we have:

1. User got 2nd time of free upgrade.
2. Order page doesn't show the new plan name correctly
3. Eligible banner still unchanged after free upgrade completed.
4. Not all SWU 3.0 RM119 users got 2 free routers.
5. Some user received upgrade complete message, but the speed is still remain unchanged.

Having a 2.5Gbps WAN port won't matter right? Because the shit device that they're giving is limited to 1Gbps LAN port.

So from the ONR(1gbps) to for example my AC86U (2.5Gbps) the link will still be 1Gbps.

Already so many mid range routers have 2.5G WAN ports, I have one too but seems like I won't be able to use it and will be limited by some shit router that TM selects for me and forces me to use.

You're talking as if you need a Bugatti as a pre-requisite to drive on the highway, but a Civic which plenty of people have will do, and TM is giving us an Axia and saying shut up and be happy.

Anyway one thing which isn't clear from reading the 1gbps/2gbps package FAQ document ... is it even an option to set their shit ONR into a bridge mode? They may be providing a locked down firmware that won't allow it. Have you checked on your side considering you have the 2Gbps package?

Yes, get 2.5G wan port is for future proof, so if newer unit give 2.4G lan port, no need buy another new router la.

So to properly use what we get, we need to pay TM for the shit ORT (RM188 or new 24 months contract), then buy a SFP converter + an actual proper router to replace the ORT.

And this needs a wifi setup that's separate but I guess we will all have that already so that cost doesn't need to be factored in.

I guess when TM schedules the upgrade I'll have to have a think about this. Ideal would be letting me downgrade and pay less since I don't really use the 800Mbps download much these days anyway, though I could use better upload speeds. But we all know they're not going to allow that at all or make it easy.
