My car is 12 years old car. sum insured is only rm22k.
my question is
Q1) if touch wood accident, my fault - the repair cost is more than rm22k for example rm30k, what will happen?
Q2) if touch wood accident, my fault - the repair cost of my car + third party car repair cost more than rm22k for example my car - rm15k repair cost, third party car - rm100k repair cost, what will happen also?

A1: this is BER (beyond economical repair). If you purchased based on agreed value, they pay you the agreed value (22k). Otherwise, they pay you market value (19k) or insured value (22k) depending which is lower (in this case, you get market value, 19k) A2: Insured value only for your car, so they will repair the 15k (since your insured value is higher than your repair). As long you purchased comprehensive insurance, then you generally dun need worry about 3rd party claim, your insurance will settle. Unless you drive your car ram 13x Lamborghini, then probably they will settle with you instead (i think max amt is 2M or depending on your insurance). The max amt usually enuff, if you wanna buy more, then it's fishy. What you plan to do with the car? This post has been edited by tctham: Sep 16 2023, 10:59 PM

Named driver, you gotta submit the names when renewing lo. All drivers, means anyone (that can legally) drive also can claim. No need submit any extra names. Insurance company used to charge per name added. Nowadays, it's bundled along, either named drivers or all drivers. Check with your agent what they need. Worse case jz say is you drive lo. You go make police report.

I prefer you online renewal much more easy some are compulsory i assume your is still under 1st party and i assume is local vehicle due to the price Insurance vehicle basically is a add on or dlc if you playing game, depends what you want to be covered if accident, you wounded or injury the insurance do cover as well unless exceed the payable amount, if below then won't give full fund usually 😂 You can get 3rd party and is very cheap but any accident you hit ppl behind you got to repair from your own pocket then your insurance only paid for victim, of course if ppl hit you from behind your insurance will claim from him 😉 Well anyway renewals online is very straightforward and easy to understand just depends what add on you needed 😆

some brand and package even included (same cost)
You have to option to name the drivers who frequently drive your car, in your policy. *All Authorised Drivers are automatically covered. There is no need to add additional names. *All Authorised Drivers are automatically covered. There is no need to add additional names.

But I tot it also works locally. If I have passengers in my car, any stoopig action made by them such as they open the door and hit a biker etc. I do not need to be responsible or touch wood once they were on my car and somehow accident happened and if they were hurt can claim from my insurance.

Mine is All drivers covered by default as long as they are having valid driving licenses and are above 21 years old.
