16 CPU is faster than 15 Pro, so either the 16 or 16 pro, don't waste money on anything below that.

16 series has better cooling than 15 series which is known to have thermal issues, so basically 16 series battery life is much better.

16 pro is significantly more expensive than his requirement, so not relevant in the comparison.
His only option is either the 16 or 15 pro, the 15 pro has a few advantages - ProMotion, 3x optical camera, ProRes/Log video, still get some AI support
The 16 has WiFi 7, better audio recording, slightly faster main camera and CPU, Full AI support

Battery life 15 Pro is still rated slightly higher than 16 on paper in Apple comparison page for video playback, real world usage maybe different. The thermal issue doesn't affect all 15 pro, I see many who also do not have this issue.

Usually company gives a new base model every 2 years, and the last I got was the 15. My 16E was self-purchased

15 still a good buy if budget less than RM 2000.

those coming from 11,12,13,14 can consider.

it's either used 15 or new 17. (RM 2000 vs RM 4000), its 50% saving.

even a used 16 at RM 3000 is not worth it, unless can find it for RM 2500.

because 17 just need to top up RM 500 from NEW 16.

Current 15 Plus user. Don't find anything interesting with this new 17 and also, there is no plus version so no more bigger screen unless you go Air or Pro Max. So stick with 15 Plus still until Apple bring back plus, maybe.

I think the folks with the worst feelings are those who bought the 16 a year ago at retail price of RM3,999 for 128GB?

We get to keep the old phone. Basically, a new iPhone every 2 years or so.

I’m eyeing the orange 17 pro max 512gb to replace my current 15 pro max 256gb. The slightly larger screen, longer battery life (hopefully) and improved cameras both front and back are very tempting.
