Rusted gates and fence paint flaking off before VP

I recently visited a few completed but not yet VP properties, such as Jardin Residence Phase 1 (KLK Property) and Ilham Residence 1 (Sime Darby).
While the houses on the whole looked nice, I could see the gates and fencing rusting, and also the paint flaking off the fencing exposing the metal.
Is this normal? Mind you, these are freshly completed properties that have yet to even VP. And no, these are not limited to the show units, I actually looked at the completed non-show units and saw the same.
I asked the Ilham SA, he says the houses been painted over a year ago...but even so, it's bloody shocking to see this happening. I would expect these to last a good 5 to 10 years, no? Or are my expectations out of check?

Repaint the same color. Then settled. Buying completed unit will not be under hda, so developer are not responsible to repair or repaint the defects, but to boost sale can nego with developer for defects repair one time but not warranty 2year under hda spa.

My question is just have standards dropped so low that this is happening, or these are just not normal and I'm unlucky to find these?

All developers are same ... they just make money while buyers pay through the rest of there life..
Indeed Very frustrating from any buyers point of view 😕

developers will try to use the cheapest and hand it over to buyer and after that its really not their problem. Their aim is to make it look nice and hope VP will happen very soon

All developers using lowest grade materials now. This is just market demand. People would rather buy 900k house with lousy materials than similar 1.2m house with top materials

Means if any flaking or paint peel off or rusting within 2 years, they will make it good?

Why blame developers, they are not the one applying the paints, its the crooked Contractors and Architects that are supposed to supervised the works.. most architects only sign the plans but never visit the sites ..they instruct their junior assistant architect fresh grads to go, contractor bring them eat free lunch ..Kautim !!

Haha you should be looking at the roof and right application of sealer and external painting rather than rust/ flaking metal painting at gate.
In the absence of galvanizing, you still get rust at your gate.

Yes it is but you think they will change a new gate and give you weatherbond paints? they will just send someone to patch up a bit and then close the defect. By the time the DLP period ends you will experience the same issue

Very normal. That's why you see gate business thriving and paint also getting more expensive. Easy money.
