I would like ask for recommendation of Malaysia Training Provider offering PMP (Project Management) Certifications. Do recommend reading materials or other guides to prepare for the exam.

Hi OP,

I recently passed my PMP exams with all 3 Above Target.
Below are some of the steps i took.

1. Signed up with a PMP course with Dr Leong.
- The course is quite stale but its cheap.
- RM 500 when being referred and if its self sponsored.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/mun-chak-leong-0263816/
Connect with him to ask about the available course schedules.

2. Completed all the "COMPULSORY" tutorials within the workspace given by Dr Leong.

3. Started going through all youtube materials, and these 3 completed helped with my PMP growth.
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNIHysh2ZW4...ndex=32&t=2608s
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIH-u81XCxM...dex=33&t=14188s

Do note that the exams are 95% scenario based and 5% calculation.
Situations are mostly agile related.

The key lessons to take away is to develop a PMP mindset when taking the exams.
I redo all the tutorial at least twice, and redo the youtube questions 2-3 times.
I also web searched and youtube some free question examples to further enhance my confidence.

I did not purchase the STUDY HALL by PMP because i wanted to save cost.
Separately, the reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/pmp/ has helped a lot in terms on testimonials on passing and free materials being shared by fellow redditors.

All the best and good luck!

Wow.. Congratulations!!.

Happy to know you had passed the exam.

Since my company will fund for my training hence I'm looking for a training provider who are registered with HRDF/HRDC.

Googled and found two companies which provides 5 days (Monday to Friday) Face to Face training. I don't prefer weekend classes.

1. Iverson (https://www.iverson.com.my/training/project-management/project-management-professional/project-management-professional-pmp-examination-preparatory.html)
2. PM Advance (https://www.pmadvance.com.my/training/pmp-exam-preparation-training/)

Thanks a lot for the materials and tips you had shared. Will seek out for more advise once I have enrolled in one.

The exam is 555 USD, but there are sometimes offers (Promo codes) which you need to search which can help to reduce it.
The promo code runs out very fast so you gotta snag it asap.

There'a cheaper alternative where you buy PMI membership + Exam (Tota 480.74USD)
Breakdown:
Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam $324.00
PMI® Membership $129.00
Malaysia Chapter $20.00
Order Subtotal: $473.00
Discount: $0.00
Taxes: $7.74
Total: $480.74

All the best OP.
Remember, the classes are only there to give you ideas and feed you theoretical definitions of PMP.
The tutorials are there to mould you towards PMP mindset.

Do check out Reddit/PMP for all the sharings there. I got a ton of tips from that side.

All the best!

Do you have to go through the application through here https://www.pmi.org/certifications/project-...mp/how-to-apply ?

By the way, with your PMP is it easier to land with a new and better job?

Not sure how much PMP helps for a non-IT background individual

Thanks for the sharing, planning to take PMP course shortly. May I ask, if agile / scrum related knowledge is a must before taking the exam?
