Last time, whenever I play first person shooter (FPS) games on PC or old consoles eg. saturn, playstation, etc., I always feel dizzy and nausea.

Knowing most popular games on PS3 and XBOX360 are FPS kind, would I still be dizzy? Or is the graphics/motion better now, I won't have to worry? Anyone who has my dizzy problem before and gotten new consoles?

ahhh, this problem.

there is a way to overcome this.
its like practice your brain. play FPS games
daily and when it starts to get a bit dizzy stop
for 5 minutes and stare away from the screen.
go focus on green grass or something else.
alot of people force themselves playing FPS
will lessen and eventually will not get
headaches anymore thumbup.gif

first, you must understand what causes the headache.
it is caused by the brain. when you're playing FPS games
your eyes telling that you are moving. while your other
sense telling that you are in a static position. so the brain
is confused which cause the headache. practicing will overcome
this problem. or you could just disable the "weapon bobbing"
to lessen the effect.

a fine example i can take is by big bro.
he suffer headaches when playing FPS games.
because of Gears of War, he force himself to play
and adopt until the headache is gone smile.gif

usually it's because of the natural, realistic view of FPSes. especially over the years, when motion in games have become more realistic.

just have to get used to it gradually, ie turning off weapon bob and all that jazz, and slowly increasing it.

those who have been playing FPSes for a very long time will not feel anything, but those new to FPSes are prone to motion sickness. some, at least.

Hmmm.... looking at some top rated games from gamespot, looks like xbox has more FPS or shooter games than ps3.

xbox : http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=to...all&sortdir=asc

ps3 : http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=to...all&sortdir=asc

TS, i'm a person who don't play FPS mainly due to past episodes of motion sickness. however, on the 360 and ps3, they do offer playable game demos - e.g condemned, FEAR, darkness, bioshock, jericho, etc. i did try those short demos and feel fine for most of them. i tried playing xbox halo2 but started feel dizzy around the 2nd hour. xbox half-life 2 was fine though - i clocked 3 hours non-stop before.

i think motion sickness sometime occur due to the FOV (field of vision) and the smoothness of the game while in motion. so if u get ps360, u can try out those demos to see the effect on you.

hmm... any businesses out there for playing PS3/360 games on hourly charge or free demos? Maybe can try.

I think Singapore has such places with free demos .... saw before but no time to try at TRU, department stores and electronic stores.

If u've have experienced this type of symptom while playing FPS, chances are that u are allergic to the Xbox360. So, its better to buy the PS3. whistling.gif

P.S: I'm just kidding bro. biggrin.gif

Yes, i've experienced it before. My worst moment is when playing Quake on the Sega Saturn. Felt very dizzy. One more game is Killzone for the PS2. Also made me feel dizzy. Currently i don't have any FPS on the PS3.
