This is maxis 5G in taiping inside the house speed , dnb maps shows nearest 5g tower was about 500 meters away. In comparison 4G was abt 47mbps.

the unlimited quota is temporary only iinm until dnb changes their mind for the promo

Unless you tether to pc to torrent … really dont see the difference …

Watch youtube needs 600 mbps? tik tok? fb … no mobile application needs that kind of speed to run … the single usage i can think of that needs such high speed is firmware upgrades… else no app developer will write an app that needs 600mbps to operate…

I don’t see benefits of using 5G atm. With current 4G speed ranging from 50-100Mbps, I still can layan udang without buffering.

What’s the use then…seems like TikTok is faster loading with 500mbps lol

it's for lower latency and more responsiveness. And when there's both 4G & 5G bands there will be less congestion...

Using phone as tether to desktop , much more responsive for Citrix apps compared to 4G , latency sensitive apps could benefit from 5G

the 5G network might be speedy, but it is unreliable.

i cannot connect to remote ssh.
when i do, will be dropped after few minutes.

my edompet whatever flavour and banking sessions always interrupted and popping errors after errors.

my video streaming also always stuck. how to get satisfied when my jav-- java frappucino video also stuck.

postpaid unlimited got hidden fup. The fup is 500gb for 5g.

Where is it stated..

• Maxis Postpaid Unlimited w/ Fibre

• Maxis Family w/ Fibre
• Maxis Family w/ Wireless Home

I am not sure if Maxis Family also get unlimited data. But the FUP is also there, so I guess it is also unlimited.

the FUP applies to wireless mode for whole account. Fibre is unlimited as it is supposed to be.
You wireless communication will always be 300GB maxed. inclusive principal, supplementary, and if 4G fibre backup dongle in included

• wireless home broadband under Maxis Family is 300GB on its own.
• wireless home broadband 138 is 300GB on its own.
• wireless home broadband 158 is 500GB on its own.

Maxis 189 on its own is already 200GB 4G/5G + 100GB 5G data bucket.
if maxed out subscribe all Share lines underneath, that add 120GB to the shared bucket, total := 320GB 4G/5G + 100GB 5G data bucket.

But if linked to fibre broadband or wireless home broadband and become Postpaid Unlimited, FUP := 300GB

realistically speaking, you'll never fully utilise it.

my experience with 5G is after some time the connection gets stuck/need to wait few long seconds.

like streaming YouTube in the background while trying to load lowyat website

Mobile speed is erratic subject to location and time … comparing two different coordinate location with 10m difference may give different result …

although sometimes I caught a glimpse of the connection change to 4G once in a while.
