is the HD3850 normally very hot? I got 70+ celsius after a few hours of Crysis on high setting... is that abnormal?

I have a question regarding the fan on HD3850. I used riva tuner to override the fan speed to 60%. Is it okay for me to leave the fan running at 60% all the time?

LOL Sapphire HD3870 at RM777?!? Very nice looking price... Darn should've waited for it to drop... my HD3850 at RM630 lah...

btw wanna ask something about the HD3850's temp again. I changed the fan speed from 60% to auto in riva tuner, but it seems that the fan speed never changed even though the temperature reached a certain value(ie I set 60% for 70 celcius, but the fan still not spinning at 60%) . What did I do wrong?

Make sure you save setting at start up(or something like that).

I have the hardware monitoring running, but I think it's a bug, as mentioned by the post above this. Nevermind, I'll fix the fan speed at 60%. Not that noisy anyway...

I heard that price from last week, but not sure true or not. How's the price of Sapphire HD3870 at Low Yat? or what's the price of the cheapest HD3870?

hmm do you think it's worth the little extra money to get the OC version? the review at HWZ looks good.

1. Do you overclock? If no, you can try.

2. Even if you do overclock...It has better stock heatsink and fan...so, could be a good buy.

2. Do you dare void the warranty and get your own 3rd party cooler? If yes, then don't buy it. Get a normal HD3870 and use 3rd party cooler.

i might try overclocking a little bit, but nothing serious. saw the heatsink, kinda liked it. might consider getting it after CNY. still worth getting after that period?
