QUOTE(X.E.D @ Dec 6 2007, 08:25 PM) Especially when everything's grey, Geforces auto-switch to render one color, and FRAPS displays OMGWTFBBQ FPS figures. Well look around, how many bright-colored buildings do you see ?

Hey guys. Im thinkin of changing card here. Does a single 3870 pawn my 8800 GTS? Forget benchmark. We're talking bout the real gaming satisfaction here.

Yes it does. Go here to start checking it out. Additional news...RV635 is going to be released with DisplayPort. Here is the news. Supposedly to be released for R700 and RS780...oh well...

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Dec 7 2007, 11:51 AM) that would be interesting G100 vs R780 There's no G100. It's either D9 M (mainstream), D9 P (performance) or D9 E (enthusiast). There's no R780 as well. It is RS780...but then again, the roadmap may change and it could be R780. Straying too much from topic again...

^So what?
2X 3850 512MB, ~ RM1400, Performance >>>>>>>>> 8800GTS New. Especially at 1920*1200+, or even 1600*1200 with AA.
BTW, try using the tent filters (Wide Tent 2X/ Narrow Tent 4X)- they don't shimmer AT ALL in lots of games, which makes them a lot closer to the cinematic experience than other cards. Performance might be lower in high resolutions especially, though.

Wow...you guys Croosfire like mad. I only buy one card at a time. When the game demands more graphics, I'll buy another card to pair it up...Buying 2 cards at a time...don't seem like a viable option to me. Better to get one greater performance card now, but keep in mind that it can be extended later through Croosfire/SLI. Thus, HD3850 is not an option for me.

With some mods here and there it can go quite far in clocks whilst still being cheaper than the 3870 (headstart for a waterblock), the "Conroe" of graphics cards . 900-1000Mhz (and beyond) is quite blazing/amazing, to the stage where it should beat the new 128SP GTS for about 60% the price (considering you'd be using a waterblock on the GTS too). Shouldn't use that much power too. Now, Crossfire that. This post has been edited by X.E.D: Dec 7 2007, 09:04 PM
