i think stock cooler will do le, 3800 series should be cooler. use it 1st lo, until u feel hot got extra money only buy 3rd party fan..

Actually I prefer very much of the HIS IceQ 3 Edition design, that's why I'm waiting for it .

Go for standard card with accelero S1 .. confirm performance better than IceQ3 loh ...

I've proof it with my own setup ...

can accelero S1 mount fans on it?
coz it scare it is not enough to cool the card if just passive cooling >.<

hahah my result is 36-51 but recently drop to 36-49 after thermal paste burn in ...

it's done with a fan placed right infront of the graphic card ...

anyway u could attach a fan at bottom of the card with some creativity...

twist wire, zip tie or rubber band ... anything that works ..

Still considering... anyway, the "gold-plated" stuff kinda tempting as well thou it's unnecessary

AC has their own version of fans. You can mount two of those unto the S1.

Doom ur graphic card is hardly stay long enough to rust with you too.........

AC have their own version of fans, very thin profile for S1 if not mistaken, but locally can get or not i'm not sure

Just ditch my Zotac 8800gt and bought a sapphire 3870 from robyncom last saturday @ RM760...the cheapest i could find currently ...
somehow there's something weird bout my card where it will crash while trying to run Crysis and DiRT if i overclock the VRAM thru Ati Overdrive...however it can finished 3DMark06 without any problem...

after going thru several tiring troubleshooting measures for a day, finally i manage to solve the problem...this time i overclock the card thru rivatuner and VOILA!!! it runs Crysis stable until 875/1300 without any BIOS flashing ...seems i dont have the 860 barrier ...perhaps the card comes with new BIOS...


further i manage to finished 3Dmark06 at 891/1300
FAN 100%
Max Load 67'c ...
this 3870 ROCKs!!!!

According to PC-Zone's price list, they have the Turbo Module (aka AC Fans) at RM45 each. Personally, I haven't gone to ask about it.

i dont think its worth it wo @ 1K if 900 then maybe still acceptable ah 4 me that is

Poisonous posts here managed to get me bought a 3850 512M Sapphire yesterday, along with some other stuff.
This is my 3rd card with ATI, all of them fiercely in red!

how was your exp after switching to 3870?

robyncom staff will open the card and flash the bios 1st for u...
u can check your bios to confirm...

the IQ was great, i notice the different in ProStreet...the colors are more vivid, sharp and shiny compared to nvidia ...
just a little bit slower FPS than 8800gt but hardly noticeable...
somehow in WiC the game much smoother compared to my previous 8800gt ....
what's bothering me is the loading time for several games sometimes take longer after i installed 3870....

Yes u r rite my fren ....after googling around i found that my gc was pre-install with BIOS version VER010.073.000.000.027243 which was for Gecube HD3870 810/1126 OC version ... refer here:

No wonder i can simply overclock the core to 890 ....if there's RMA issue later how am i going to flash it back to original Sapphire BIOS??
