Is that true?
From the reviews i've seen it still lose to 8800GT in framerates..
I'm stuck between 8800GT and 3870 IceQ..  blush.gif

Ah? R680 @ HD3870X2 is not fully reviewed yet, and I doubt it'll lose to 8800GT.

Doubt = to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe.

Birdrew was the one stating that R680 will lose to 8800GT. Read his/her post:

C'mon. Get at least a ST56F. Don't settle for anything lower as you may need to constantly upgrade it later.

Get better Gcard next year lah. Buy the PSU now. The price won't change much, so it's a good investment. It's good for future usage as well. Gcard always change lah.

PMR tis year lagi.. well, i dun quite enjoy nvidia.. so any PSU u recommend that has true power? .. i dun plan to go for expensive psu... i think 500watt enough eh?.. i will stickwith my rig for till i work.

You'll probably change your mind after Form 5. Which school are you in by the way? Hmm, I'm quite unsure which model you should get. You can refer to this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/450882. Nevertheless, My ST56F has served me well thus far. The cables are quite messy though since it is not modular.

well im in SMK . ST columba. .. .. hahaa~ offtopic jor >.>~  isnt the ST400 good enough to power up a 3850 iceq3?. none crossfire??.my mobo dun support xfire.
*
Ah...my junior. I'm StCo Class of 99. Well, it's good enough but it's better to accomodate more power so that your PSU won't overwork. Who knows, you may want to upgrade to another GPU or CPU before entering into University or something.

Might as well get a 8800GT instead of 9600GT...

You will be hardpressed to sell HD3870 as 2nd hand. Even though you used it for a day, you're still going to lose up to RM50 minimum...

Well, guess no point waiting on R680. Price per performance is just not worth it. Stick with my HD3870, and will be getting the HR03GT on Friday for it. Just saw a legitimate review of the R680 over at: http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/01/23/ati...ge_fury_maxx_2/

PC Zone always have typo on their pricelist. This is not America. We can't hold them in court for typo if they refuse to sell it at the listed price.

Looks good but so far, benchmark has been rather disappointing, not to mentioned buggy. Hopefully drivers will fix the problems. Maybe after CNY, it would be better.

Yes it does use dual RV670. There's a thread going on about R680 (Dual RV670), so you might want to check it out there.
