For this Official thread, it's to discuss in general Chery Omoda 5, including driving experiences / pros and cons / overall feedback after driving for a year or two. Today is officially the day where Chery Malaysia received their 1st batch of cars for customers who booked before even Chery showcase the car around July. So I thought of creating this thread so that people who have / had drove the car on a day-to-day basis can share their feedback in this thread.

This thread is also for people seeking all kinds of advice regarding the Omoda 5, so that you can discuss and decide whether or not you want to throw your money into the Omoda 5.

Specifications

The Chery Omoda 5 is offered Petrol engine in the Malaysia. The new SUV from Chery comes in a total of 2 variants. If we talk about Chery Omoda 5 engine specs then the Petrol engine displacement is 1598 cc. Omoda 5 is available with Dual Clutch transmission. The Omoda 5 is a 5 Seater SUV and has a length of 4400 mm the width of 1830 mm, and a wheelbase of 2630 mm.

Dimension & Capacity - Length 4400 mm / Width 1830 mm / Height 1588 mm / Wheel Base 2630 mm

No Of Doors - 5

Seating Capacity - 5 Seats

Nope, I'm not one of them who bought the 1st batch, I'm waiting for a cool-off period of 1 year before buying. Want to know more about the car's pros and cons for at least a year.

True... The omada 5 have whatapp group for the owners with Geely service PIC inside to monitor. Owners very active in whatapp.

HRV 2017 torsion beam looks more robust and thicker at the same price point. This just looks thin and flimsy.

What’s more strange is why is everyone buying the high spec omoda (identified using the red strip)? I have seen almost none slow spec on the road. The low spec is quite well equipped in my opinion, Rm10k difference. I rather get the low spec

What happen to all the Omoda 5? now hardly bump onto one on the road in Penang. See a lot of J7 though.

Could be the axle issue in April 2024. Based on JPJ registrations, after axle issue monthly registrations halved from 1k to <500.
