Personally, I'm quite fed up with the navigation in Tesla. If I'm going to familiar places then I'll still use it for the sake of battery % estimation. If you're going somewhere unfamiliar, it's really risky.

One of my most hated "issue" is that it tends to give unnecessary guides when I am just suppose to go straight. For example, when you're driving on a straight road and there is an left exit coming up, Waze / Google Maps would not even ping you to do anything (which naturally means to stay on your lane and continue to go straight). But Tesla navigation just tell you to keep right in xxx meters which in fact is just to keep on your current straight lane. I got confused so many times on unfamiliar roads by this unnecessary guide. Also, the navigation tends to give you last minute direction. By the time it gives you alert, you're almost at the intersection already and if you're not on the correct lane, good luck and go straight to reroute again.
I have 2 kids too (3 year old and 5 year old), still opt for white interior as I really like how it look.
Black seats and interior are way too common, you rarely get a choice to get white interior in a car.
Doesn't mean the black interior is bad at all, it looks good too, just my personal choice to go with white. It's all up to you.

Thanks for your opinion on the white seats.

Placed an order for a performance model with black interior about a week ago, loan all sorted, EDD is end of November. I saw white seats version in inventory, so very tempted to go for it in the hope that maybe I can get car way earlier...

If you're buying SR model, the white is definitely nicer as the white panel on the doors is I think leather?

SR black color is the cloth... if LR/P then you get suede.
*
Yes. For P with suede, with white colour, not sure if it is white suede or other kind of material...

For all who are anxiously waiting for car to arrive from Shanghai, I somehow managed to find this website which allows you to key in the VIN, which will tell you which ship your car is on and potential arrival dates into Malaysia.

Can I ask, for those who retrofitted the JPJ e plate, is it possible to install the windshield rfid sticker with qr code on a holder, before sticking on the windscreen?

Just in case windscreen cracked, need to replace next time…

After update, now tesla map can show third party charging network.
*
Is it? Which software version are you on? My navigation data is also still on a 2024 version....

I live in JB, the only third party charging network I see are those in Singapore, in Malaysia, still can't see....This is when I tap to look for chargers in the map.... sad.gif

Is it possible to subscribe to EAP or FSD after purchase of the car? Am actually more keen on the auto lane change functions in EAP, considering I do quite a bit of driving up and down the NSE...

As of today, it is not possible to purchase EAP or FSD in the app, post-delivery.
EAP or FSD can only be bundled together when you initially order your car at Tesla website (you can bundle it into your loan).

Anyway, you may consider EAP but not recommend to look at FSD. FSD is not usable at Malaysia yet, and I do not think it'll be legalized here anytime soon.

If you're consider ordering a Tesla soon, can consider using my referral link if you don't already have one. Additional RM1,000 discount for you  thumbsup.gif

I see. I am a current M3P owner. Maybe I will try to email or contact Tesla to ask about purchase of EAP. Thanks for the reply.

Got a really quick reply from Tesla:

Hi,

You may purchase Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) through our Tesla Service Centre. Please note that Full Self-Driving (FSD) is currently not available in Malaysia for post-delivery purchase.

The quotation for EAP is approximately MYR 16,000, and payment will be charged directly to the card linked in your Tesla app. There is no need to visit the Service Centre, as the firmware package will be delivered to your vehicle over the air.

Kindly let us know if you wish to proceed, and we will arrange for our Service Advisor to contact you for confirmation and payment processing.

Best Regards,
Malaysia Customer Support

only cash or financing available?

I guess will have to talk to Service Advisor to ask. I was just curious to know, but in the email it says it will charge to the card linked in our Tesla app, so maybe it is a one-off payment...

EAP, to me at least, is not worth the money it asks for....

Ya, EAP is definitely not worth the price in my opinion. It is running on a few years old framework (not their current FSD end-to-end AI framework) that cannot handle a lot of edge cases. I just hope Malaysia government can legalize FSD soon.

Read last month about FSD testing in Australia….

But somehow, I think FSD legalisation in Malaysia is a far fetched dream….

Well, there are reports saying that FSD testing on public roads is already underway in Japan a few days ago. Furthermore, Tesla seems to already have plans to bring FSD to a country just beside us, Thailand. If Tesla manage to get the green light in Thailand, I don't see why FSD couldn't come to Malaysia. Fingers crossed.

To put into context, although I think I am just unlucky, my windscreen cracked twice within 2 months.

After first accident, I topped up to cover back the windscreen. So my 2nd claim was also under insurance.

I am still thinking whether I want to top up to cover back the windscreen again, although my insurance renews in December....
