I have Celcom and Maxis lines in my Fold 5.
From what I observed is that Maxis will connect to 5G more frequently and immediately in areas with 5G.
Celcom will tend to stick to its 4G+.
As all telcos share the same DNB 5G towers, my conclusion is that Celcom will prefer not to connect to DNB 5G so often as they have to pay DNB based on data consumed?

QUOTE(bios123 @ Sep 27 2023, 12:58 AM) somehow they are different. i have tested and found out the fact. I agree it is different. Say if you are in an area with good Celcom/Maxis and also DNB 5G coverage. I believe your Telco can control if they will connect your phone to their cell tower or DNB 5G tower. My rationale is that if they connect you to DNB 5G towers, they need to pay for data usage whereas if it is their own tower, no extra cost to them.

Lately, I notice that Celcom's 5G connection is slow, with speed of less than 10 Mbps at certain times. When I switch to Celcom LTE, then I can get up to 80 to 90 Mbps. Some more in full bars 5G coverage area in KLCC, Mid Valley.
I also have Maxis. When I switch to Maxis, their 5G speed is 100 Mbps or more.
So I can say that Celcom 5G sucks and issue not with DNB as Maxis no issue with high speed 5G.
