I got 3 routers - same model (run in AP mode) with same SSID and same 2.4/5ghz channel numbers and same WPA2 password.

Am I configuring it right, if I want to mesh it to extend my Wifi network? The APs are all connected hard wired Ethernet.

Symptoms: When roaming, it takes forever to connect / fail to connect to nearest AP.

Appreciate your help.

Same SSID access points are not really mesh

To improve your roaming, perhaps try to 1) disable access point DHCP server and 2) assign manual IP to your access points

Setting them with Same SSID and PW is correct.
But, all 3 AP must use different Channel Number.
And if the distance between AP are near, try play with the wireless radio power.

if it's not mesh (not support 802.11k and 802.11v), then reduce all your AP wifi transmit power.
