I should think that if they refuse to reimburse you with a brand new one, instead of a molested one you have, then you can throw tantrum here. Try talking to them nicely, and explain to them rationally. As far as i can remember, MTCS (Mike in particular) is very very reasonable when it comes to returns and replacements during early purchases period. Rather than throwing a tantrum here, i suggest you head back there and explain to them calmly. The bunch i see there are now known to me, but i know the old MTCS staffs there, and they are very reasonable. I know it is very disheartening and disappointing to see your unit molested before you did it, but there may be some confusion, when they might grabbed the wrong stock (display unit, instead of brand new ones) and mistakenly sell it to you.

I've been MTCS customers for a while back, since their early single-store-in-Imbi/Lowyat days, and even though the younder staff may seem obnoxious and ignorant, the vets there are quite accomodating and friendly.

I try not to think bad of vendors until i hear both sides of the story. If i could prove them wrong but in nice calm manner, they themselves malu and will remember my case in any future dealings i have with them. In the end, both sides win.

Calm down, and i suggest you head back there and demand, calmly though, for their explanation. If you need to, you can pass me your name/receipt number and i can forward your case to Mike if needed to. You need to hurry though, im due for Adelaide tonight.

To play RMVB files.. well someone made an easy installer.

download the 0.0.3 version, then find where u downloaded it to, right click on the gz file and select extract all, it'll extract the files into a lazyeeepc folder, enter that folder and you'll see another folder, and a file as well, a python file, double click the python script file.

it's in chinese, ensure the first option with the word debian is checked, then ensure the last option with the word rmvb is checked.

It will now start to download files from the internet.. it WILL take some time, it'll pop up a mesasgebox with a lightbulb once it's done.

Added on November 17, 2007, 2:01 amthen you need to restart, but after that rmvb will be playable.

i've an extra spare from my cousin...but read from the forum that you could install WITHOUT usingand external dvdrom, but its not advisable.
