I can only said that for every shop, if they cannot fix or solve some problem, they will find someone that can help them to fix it.
And they not only look for one, they will look for many ppl with the knowledge to do it.
And yes, these guys are paid handsomely.
*
Yup well said, but some shops will also put the blame on others like saying its like users fault that it got the psp spoilt although the users did nothing to it. (happens alot when people going back to the shop to claim for services)

Agree... thumbup.gif I can say 90% of the problem are from those ignorant users. Most of them are the noobies. They tend to think that they know everything without doing a proper research. ooops..i talk too much...hahahaha....

Well i don't know it happen to my friend and i take his word for it. Well he is not that smart to go to the recovery screen anyway but he is not that dumb to burn Rm 79x ++ .Stingy poker ask him to pay for yam cha also hard. Oh well...

i guess so. anyway, no one gonna believe that so to prevent mine  brows.gif  from having the same fate. I stop using the custom theme function temporary.  biggrin.gif

Well..i did ask lots of ppl, all of them blame us for flashing the unit. i do not have the expertise to flash. I owned a fat psp before with the same firmware starting from the day i bought it even if there are newer version, i dun care as long as i can play games with it.

No theme for me  sweat.gif

when people don't know..... they guess and blame others. Kinda normal practice already biggrin.gif

I would like to disagree with both of you on this issue. I'm not saying that all problems are caused by the users instead of the console. But I am one of the 10% who care about their PSP more than their life. I bought my PSP from Bernard after seeing lots of good opinions on him. But ever since I bought the PSP from him, I've not been a happy customer.

Their service was nice when I went to purchase the PSP. Gave lots of promises to help should any problem occur. But on the first week itself, I found out that the PSP could not play certain racing games. It hangs occasionally when playing these games. My friends didn't have such problem with the same game, neither did some LYN members. I say 'first week' because it doesn't hang all the time and I didn't start playing that particular game on the first day. After all...they did give me 2 full DVD of games. Anyway I didn't bother about the problem as the games were not important to me, but I did inform Bernard about it. As usual, he promised to take a look at it if I send the PSP back. I simply didn't play the game anymore.

Shortly after 1 month, I played MHF2 with some friends. Things were fine at first, but then another problem appeared. While playing multiplayer, the wifi would turn itself off in the middle of the game. I checked the switch and it was still there. I didn't accidentally shut it off. This problem continued to appear everyday, once a day. A week later, I sent it back to Bernard coz it was really disturbing my friends. Very funny things happened during this time:-

- Day 1: Promised to check some kind of noise he found in the PSP. And would send it back to my house later the evening. Didn't even receive a call that day.
- Day 2: Called the shop and Crystal, the assistant said they had not check the PSP yet. Will call later the evening. No calls received.
- Day 3: Called Bernard directly. He said he tried to solve the problem by updating the firmware. Not successful. Then he said & I quote "I promise to open the PSP by today and check the problem. Will call you at 6pm.". No calls received till 6.30pm. Called Bernard again. Guess what he said? Had not check the PSP again. Asked for a few more days, after Raya. I got fedup and asked to return the PSP.
- Day 3 (evening): Arrived at the shop with a friend. Immediately after taking the PSP, Bernard blames me for using Firmware. I asked him to check the PSP for traces and he said that the firmware traces could be removed manually. More accusations started to flood the conversation. I did not 'return fire', but my friend threw some rather easy questions at him and he could not answer them properly. We didn't bother about the guy and left with the PSP hoping for the best.

I understand if he's busy since Hari Raya was around the corner. But all those promises...truly unnecessary. Now if you wanna blame me for using Firmware - I PURPOSELY avoided those softwares ever since I heard about "brick". If you wanna blame me for dropping the PSP - never in my 9 lives I dropped the PSP. I never take care of it? Ask my friends how often I use my spectacles cloth to clean the dust after every game.

Either way, the wifi problem didn't happen anymore since I got the PSP back from Bernard. Guess he fixed it but didn't realize it. However....another problem appeared. On the 2nd day after getting back the PSP...it would occasionally turn off on its own. Doesn't happen in the game (luckily), just when I flip the switch to turn it on...it would turn off again. So...basically I traded 1 problem for another doh.gif

I suggest you read what I just posted before deciding to buy from him. But I can't recommend anyone out there who knows so much technical stuff about the PSP either tongue.gif

Woah quite an experience u had there. but i think you should keep off the names. i smell potential flame's towards you. Good luck. Try posting more about your problems around here i think there is some guru's or better recommendations on how to fix ur problems...cheers

I personally think that he is consider very helpful. It is just that sumtimes unlucky. Try to put urself in his situation, having 99 out of 100 who brick their psp because of ignorance, definitely he would blame on us. So, i was pretty careful with mine after my fren's incident.

I've not yet tried the wifi but how do u test ur wifi whether it is working or not?
*
So basically say he is generalizing people ? Pity those 1/100

anyway to browse internet using ur wifi at hotspot area or at home if you have a wireless router. Best is to stress test your wifi. What i mean by stress test is to play some heavy loading games like MHF2 or MACH or Metal gear solid and etc etc...

Anyway speaking of which, i happen to see 1 thread regarding this.. where a user went for bernard for help in repairs but he failed to repair it thus his umd cannot load any disc forever.
He quoted something like
"bernard didn't manage to repair my psp but i am happy with his service as he went an extra mile to try to repair it so thumbs up for bernard"

Correct me if i am wrong.. the thread is somewhere in the console forum in LYN.

But isn't fail to repair is a FAILED attempted to repair. Whats the point of good service when u cannot manage to repair ? unless that guy just happen to go for bernard after recommendation and not after buying the unit and have the problem at bernard

sweat.gif not he...almost everyone.
He treat me real well, help me with my psp and spent lots of time on my fren's psp.
But in the end, still got blame for flashing the psp, BUT he treat us so well and solved our problem, we dun even care to argue back because of his kind and helpful services.

tongue.gif i dun have wireless router and dun have any hotspot around my house. I will test like what u mention when i got chance.

notworthy.gif  thx

Well, then i think u are quick lucky u bought your psp from Gamer Solution.
Let's said you bought it from Sg. Wang or Digital Mall.
Do think u can get back your PSP in one week after you give them your psp and they "promise" to fix it or u.
Do you think the inside of your psp is still yours and not some reconditioned stuff replaced to your psp?
Can u sure your psp battery is really yours or changed to some third party look-alike?
I'm not siding Gamer Solution here, but I'd really like to know what is the "easy" question that your friend have asked.
*
Well he (bernard) is a nice guy he even sponsered some events for PSP gathering. But i dun think that its tat bad right ?? shocking.gif As i bought mine from Sg Wang cos that time not active in Console forums. but so far no problems at all . Only that the seller is a bit stuck up...
Planning to get myself a psp slim any other shops to recommand ? Giving the fat psp of mine (just 3 months old) to my younger bro biggrin.gif
