Hi,

I just wanted to ask opinion and advise on the kitchen layout which I have designed using IKEA planner.

My kitchen layout would typically look like the drawings below, with the actual dimensions of the fridge, washing machine and kitchen hood/hob as per my purchase. I also most probably will add few more elements i.e. wall shelves, wider storage shelves (beside the fridge)

In term of measurements and distance between the different elements, is it ok or practical for my kitchen area?
I am open for any suggestion and improvements.

Thank you.

NOTE:[B]
1. Ceiling height = 3124 mm
2. Hood height from kitchen counter = 750 mm
3. Kitchen cabinet will be done by kc contractor, so the height and depth will be designed according my preference. In the drawing, kc is based on the IKEA Planner. I (i.e. 80x60x80 cm and 60x60x80 cm).

Would rather have smaller sink or shortened the counter instead, so can fit in the fridge next to the washing machine.

I would go for 90cm counter top height, and cooker countertop tension at 80cm, if your height is over 170cm then 90cm is more comfortable
And your sink is too near to the cooker, if you use water while cooker is cooking then water will splash to the cooking area

I have changed the layout a bit.

Thanks for the pointers. Moved the sink farther to the right and shortened the right counter of the sink a bit. Also changed the placement of washer and fridge

Hai morning , a question … your new position of washer dryer and fridge which basically I thick is a good clean circulation now towards both accessories… I was wondering have you check the drainage outlet for the washer / dryer …the location ? If not your drain hose will be all over the place …

Cheers mate

Hiii,

Floor drain is exactly on the corner, right side of the washer.

Thanks so much for your comment and question biggrin.gif

With this layout you don't have enough space for preparing ingredients, where are you going to chop vege and meat

Or you can move sink to farthest right, then you have a space between cooktop and sink for that purpose

And you need to see where is your water supply inlet and drain for the sink, if you move the sink too far from the drain you will need to drill your cabinet for the extended pipe and might affect your drawer space if there is any

Also make sure your washing machine door can be fully open and doesn't hit the fridge or cabinet in front of it, and of course you need to have enough space to stand in front of the washer to take out and put in laundry, do look at the measurement also instead of the design alone
