Restarted the phone today. Black screen, cannot turn on, no matter how long I hold the power button.

Tried a few things, opened the case, messed with the battery connection and now can turn back on.

Managed to recover the data inside while it's on, but now too scared to turn off or restart the phone because it might dead boot again.

Anyone with the same phone (Redmi 9T) also having same issue as me? And how to fix? I see many people online complaining about the issue.

Pretty pissed that this phone is just a little over two years old already have major problem.

And can someone recommend me a similar mid-range (< RM1k) phone that also has great battery life?

Very common problem with 9T. I bought one for my maid and it kong just after warranty ended. Sent to SC and the conclusion is motherboard was dead

If replace need to pay around 400+ which is almost the same price of that phone. Decided to dump it and buy a new phone for her.

Conlcusion is, try not to buy phones below RM1000. They use low quality parts

In the end I decided to buy a new phone. Samsung A24. Same price as my old Redmi 9T, RM700+. So far so good. Excellent battery life. Screen is so much better. Samsung's software is also great, a lot better than Xiaomi which is full of adware and bloatware.

And best of all - 2 year warranty. No other brand that I know of is brave enough to sell a phone with 2 year warranty out of the box.

redmi 9t is same mobo as poco m3..also famous for deadboot issue

after thorough checking on xda, if you are confident and daring, just remove the ic capping on one of the chip.

i send it to one phone shop to get it fix..no more ever since

I've even wasted time to drive over to midvalley xiaomi center to get the whole mobo changed ,but also end up back at deadboot.
