Hi all, recently I want to make a subscription on China website 微博, whereby the payment should be made via Alipay. I tried to attach Malaysia's credit card but it can't do transaction successfully.

Anybody can help?



If this is success, next time I can test use Alipay to pay stuff.

If I go to China bank like ICBC in Maxis Tower to register a credit card, does this going to work?

Or is there any method to transfer $$ to Alipay, from our local Malaysia's bank account or Touch N Go something? I tried few rounds but it seems can't do it.

Try TNG and let us know. Tng and alipay are partners. I remember before Covid my WeChat pay with international credit card would work in larger shops like convenience chain and costa coffee in mainland china. But smaller shops wouldn’t work. It seems to depend on the merchant

wechat have two version international n local (chinal)

can use Alipay and wechat (switch to CN version) via visa (need to register ID with valid passport first), some merchant dont accept Alipay,some charges fee 3% and plus extra currency conversion.
I think got limit, i use TNG transfer to local MY limit RM5K per month, want to transfer money more than RM5K need to pay extra fee to increase the limit. Big customer should give more priority but restricted alot. I use my own way

I am using TnG ewallet to transfer money to my Alipay app. the first step to do is to switch Alipay to china version instead of global version from the option menu and do passport verification. Then search for and activate merchant service(商家服务）.
After activate, then you can perform request money, put in the amount and save the QR code, then pay with TnG ewallet by scan photo from gallery.
I did get scammed around RM200 for Alipay reload service at the beginning and after that used to reload tru shopee seller, but the price is higher compare to the conversion rate.

Apply for Union pay credit card. Recognised in China.

You can apply UnionPay cards from local banks too eg PB, Ambank etc. Or any China bank in Msia such as ICBC and Bank of China. Maybe those china msian ones more advantageous? No idea

At home page got 收钱，press it, it will show QR code, then there is 设置金额，enter the amount you want request, then it will show the amount under ur QR code, then save the image and load to TnG, can try small small amount first for first time.

you can search for agents that help u buy china stuff, they usually have a lot of yuan in their alipay and happyly can help

Wouldn't TnG try to open your Alipay app and Alipay will say you can't do the transfer thus back to square 1?

Nope, mine will show confirm payment page after scan QR code, then payment page will show powered by Alipay at the bottom.

Using 3rd party reload or purchase they charge high rate at >RM0.7x/1yuan, TnG rate at ~0.65/1yuan.

I have added merchant function and when I try using Tng to scan the QR code, the TnG page went blank. I tried the steps above this but it will display 个人收钱 QR code which is not merchant code. Even I scan my own merchant code also doesn't work as well. May I know any steps that I missing?

Your steps are correct, but I don't know what the issue if it failed, if went blank maybe TnG issue, it's not loading.

i had done the step, apply merchant, i test pay using my colleage TNG andriod, it mentioend merchant not supported and another colleague IOS it stay blank screen and hang, need to restart the TNG wallet.

Hello I used to be able to top up just like what you mentioned before but recently facing the same issue whereby tngo just brings me to Alipay app or flat out saying qr code invalid. Any idea what went wrong ?

looks like they probably closed the merchant account remittance loophole. probably you need even more KYC to register as alipay merchant acct.

Was just using it a few days ago to transfer around RM4.5k to my Alipay with TnGO with no issue, now show me this ugh do they have a limit or something??

Ayam in China now. All done with the Alipay I've downloaded and KYCed in Malaysia. Tie to credit cards with traveling notice and all are done in one app. No hassle

Me 3, cannot use the method liao.. just used 1 mth with little amount only. now using third party topup , any other method?

Just found this thread.. I didn't even enable merchant services last time (seems like automatically enabled for me) and was able to top up around 4-5 times, with the highest amount being 2150 RMB. Now it shows the same error, merchant not supported for Alipay+.

If anyone found an alternative please let me know. Those top up reseller charges RM0.69 per RMB which is very high...

May I know if you found a workaround for this without depending on third party to pay for you? I am looking to make purchases on 1688 myself to save on some fees and use forwarder service "Ship For Me" instead of "Buy For Me"

hello. i have never made or made an alipay account years ago and forgot about it.

this past week i have been getting multiple messages from alipay with a verification code saying someone is trying to access my account.

i tried to chat with alipay but they say customer support is only for business users

anyone know why this is? how to stop it? or is it related to TNG alipay intergration which i have used before last year in thailand

Does ur Malaysian credit card bank sms u the OTP code when u use alipay to pay which is linked to ur Malaysian credit card? R u using malaysian telco roaming or eSIM?

2. No OTP, but must inform bank about overseas travelling period. I have got my card blocked after 1st day and have to spend money to call the bank to unblock to card.

Wanna ask if i wan use credit card auto reload to use alipay at china, but my go+ got money, will it deduct my go+ or it will use my card direct? Or can i reload non-transferable amount to my tng ewallet and alipay will deduct from non transferable amount?

Maybe I can share my experience, some merchant at China couldn't support tng. But tng can scan user alipay.

Usually I go shop random ask for help. Pay china people direct via tng, ask them transfer money to my alipay.

In return I give myr notes as souvenir.

Any recommendations for third party top up or is there any way to top up rmb to Alipay nowadays? Also what is the topup rate now?

Apparently instead of topping up Alipay, I can pay using my linked credit card. For example I have linked my malaysian credit card in alipay (but can't use it to top up balance).
When I check out in Xianyu or any apps after scanning the Alipay QR, instead of paying using balance, the credit card can be selected as the payment method.

So far it has worked for me. Credit card conversion rate is still cheaper than third party agents.

How about if they scan you QR, can pay with your linked credit card?

I never tried getting my QR scanned, usually I only buy online and I have to scan the online shop's QR instead.
