Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura are luxury divisions of Toyota, Nissan, and Honda respectively.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.zigwheels....nfiniti%3famp=1

These brands offer upscale vehicles with enhanced features and performance compared to their parent companies' mainstream offerings.

Compare Premium Brands from Japan

Three representatives of luxury car brands, Lexus , Infiniti , and Acura , look like they were modeled in the same engineering center. If we compare their SUVs:

Lexus RX, Infiniti QX60, and Acura MDX, we will see that they have similar dimensions, units, interiors, and purpose, and rather a common approach to the design of the car.

Infiniti brand makes "inspired" entrance into Malaysia

October 16, 2011

Infiniti, the Japanese luxury automotive brand, has expanded into Malaysia, making it their second market in ASEAN.

They inaugurated a showroom in Kuala Lumpur and introduced four performance models - FX37 performance SUV, EX37 performance crossover, M37 performance sedan, and G37 Sports Coupe.

This move is part of Infiniti's global expansion strategy, following successful launches in various regions. The 8000 sq ft Infiniti Center promises an innovative service experience.

Toru Saito, Infiniti's Corporate Vice President, highlighted the growing demand for luxury cars in Southeast Asia and Malaysia's upwardly mobile consumers. Infiniti aims to capture 5% of the local luxury car market within five years by introducing new models and expanding their presence.

This expansion is driven by a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and luxury performance. Infiniti's collaborations with brands like Louis Vuitton and Red Bull Racing reinforce their dedication to performance and technology.

The Infiniti Center is located at

Chulan Square,
92 Jalan Raja Chulan,
50200 Kuala Lumpur

and is open daily from 10.00am to 9.00pm.

I maintain my statement.
Using a brand that sells less cars in year compared to other brands in a month, don't think it says anything.

lexus is actual luxury. can tapau cars from bentley and merc

acura and infinity more of a sub brand like lincoln and cadillac. higher quality but ppl will never see them other than as high spec honda or nissun

unlike acura and infiniti, toyota has taken some truly extreme steps to dissociate these two brands with each other, so much so that u will never see toyota branding on lexus except in some truly hidden spot like body panels kek

But infiniti use mercedes benz engine

Q50 and Q60 also

As for the oily bits, the engine is sourced from Mercedes-Benz, with four cylinders displacing 2.0-litres.

It’s turbocharged to churn a healthy 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque, all of which are sent to the rear wheels via an in-house seven-speed intelligent automatic transmission.

Through Drive Mode Selector (DMS), drivers can choose between four options: Standard, Sport, Personal and Snow.

Autocar reports that Infiniti has chosen not to use Mercedes' MFA2 platform, citing the incompatibility with the next-gen QX50's new VC-T powertrain. Infiniti plans on pushing the variable-compression mill to most of its lineup and not being able to use it in a bread-and-butter model would be detrimental.

"We have a very good relationship with Mercedes," Infiniti head Roland Krueger told Autocar. "In this particular case, we have decided other projects needed to be prioritized and that's what we did."

But now no more sharing technology

But those 2014-2017 car all use benz engine

Renault Captur got one time quite a few on the road. Was it the cheapest SUV that time? Also there were news that the new Renault at that time were sharing platform and tech with Nissan.

QUOTE
2013
Renault and Nissan announce their "Common Module Family" plan for low-cost development and manufacturing of vehicles.

The new system is aimed at reducing component costs by 20-30 percent across the alliance. The next year they converge more functions, targeting 10 billion euros ($11 billion) in annual savings by around 2022.

One such thing exists from this is Renault Fluence that is essentially Nissan Selphy underneath. So cars like Capture could be the same as a Juke. A Kaleos could be the same as X-Trail.

People who bought these cars very likely carry the same knowledge or it was disbursed by the sales people.

Somehow the old Renault Megane RS 250 seems to be quite reliable. Compared to the old Megane R26 made before the merger. So some tech transfer was happening. But Japan say Renault stole their tech to make their cars reliable. whistling.gif

Can't comment on Acura, I've never owned or driven one before.

As fot Infiniti, I've driven the Q50, Q60 and Q70 before.

Q50 and Q60 shares the drive train as the C250 W205, but doesn't feel as premium, and I fine the Mercedes more quiet and refined. Also, the Infinitis Q50 and Q60 doesn't even have peddle shifters. This is unacceptable for a car that costs so much.

Q70, the interior looks like it's from the 90s, doesn't have modern safety specs, and handles like a sampan.

I'm a ES250 owner, and it's a bigger Camry with a luxury badge.

However, when the Japanese economy collapsed in early 1992 Mazda faced a liquidity shortage and was unable to complete development of the brand. Mazda announced the cancellation of the Amati brand in October 1992[2] and the completed vehicles were sold under Mazda's existing brand names.

Never driven any Infiniti or Acura before, so cannot comment. Would take a Lexus NX over any of the Merc, Audi or BMW equivalents in its price range, but for the sedans I would probably gravitate towards the Germans.

It was a difficult choice for me to choose between a used Q50, IS250 (2nd Gen) or MarkX (2nd Gen).
After joining the Infiniti Malaysia FB group, I decided to dump the Q50. Looks like only 1 workshop in the whole Klang Valley can do the repair, and as usually everyone is recommending the Nissan service center in Batu Cave.

Parts are source from Singapore, very little component shared among Nissan models. Although it is using Merc's 2.0L, but sometimes parts can be different between CBU and CKD, it all depends on VIN number. My previous Polo CBU doesn't even share the same ABS sensor as the CKD ones.

I ended up with MarkX with much more workshop can do the job, more spare parts and halfcut, and even share the same side mirror with MyVi..

Most likely yes.. my MarkX has the same drive train, chassis and suspension as Lexus.
Normal change engine oil, atf, rear axle oil, spark plugs.. After 110,000km, never given a single issue. Still on stock AVS suspension (Adaptive variable suspension)
Just my butt itch to upgrade camber kit, strut bar, autofoam and K&N fllter.
