This was revealed by Honda Malaysia MD and CEO Hironobu Yoshimura, who mentioned the dropping of the Accord from the local model line-up during his presentation speech at today’s launch of the 2023 Honda City facelift.

No other specifics regarding the decision were mentioned, but sources familiar with the matter say that the plug was being pulled on the replacement because the numbers for local assembly would not justify its introduction. That’s not surprising, given that sales in the particular segment has been on the decline for a good while now, with consumers looking at SUVs and segment-down alternatives instead.

Still honda malaysia is too scare of keep failing

Remember mpv like odyssey, stream, freed, BRV, all discontinued because honda Malaysia feels like MPV cannot sell

Accord, cannot sell, discontinue

What next? CRV?

Price change, size change.

Civic is now the Accord.
City has moved up.
Soon they have to bring in Brio for RM70K range.

Honda only good at selling b40 luxury car

Accord is definitely not on people list. Just look at how many accord especially face lift model on the road. Even lambo urus not as rare as that

Better just cut the model that not selling similar to some Darby when they cut off ford focus and fiesta from further sales and focus on ranger instead

between accord and camry, i see more camry on the road than accord. I suspect Accord sales plummet after they raise to near RM190k, with the same engine i think people would rather go for Civic.

Likely coz their CR-V when released later this year will be around 200k or even higher already, so most people would pick CR-V over Accord.

Both also will become obsolete, just a matter of sooner or later.

depending if Toyota can cut cost, local CKD it and bring in Harrier price range similar to fight CRV since big SUV are going to sell well even it cost over 200k for a recon harrier
