Changed the ceiling lights in my room to downlights recently, the guy who installed it poked 4 holes, each about 5" at 4 corners of the plaster ceiling. The ceiling has a layer of rockwool originally, during installation I saw the guy poked through that layer and sweeping the rest to the side.

After that I do feel that my room has become warmer compared to the other rooms that are still using ceiling lights, so I'm wondering about others' experience on this.

Do you install downlights and rockwool at your ceiling? Do you notice any difference before and after installing the downlights?

Also, as I think about it again, maybe I should have just sticked to ceiling lights. Apart from damaging the insulation layer, replacing the lights in future will have to expose those holes again, and who knows what small animals living in the attic unsure.gif
