They had 4.2% back in March even.

Mean i late a bit, in may or june i apply

Back than, other banks also were offering around that rate also. I got offered 3.95% from another bank around that period also.

CIMB was the only one as high as 4.2% I think, which I thought kinda sus but they are a bank and won't run away with your money if you took it up.

But yes, the banks have been reducing these FD promos lately. As always, it is a business decision.

Regret is did not max my bank Islam FD when still 4.5%. should have done that by withdrawing most of my versa.

Well my bet is they are already cash rich because so many ppl deposited when they offered 4.5 - 4.8.

They are not obligated to provide promo rates.

You're right. No such thing as free money

And even if interest rate go up. No guarantee your promo rate will go up also.

Not necessarily. FDR may increase but not promo rate.

Fd promo rate also ade depository quota punya. Once they hit that, they revise down

They reduce non-promo rate because lots of lazy depositors never bother to take promo rate so they can benefit from such laziness.

cimb is very conservative...

their promo is never attractive...
