Yes, I do reconize that Apple's Ipad ecosystem is better than android's but this really isnt the place to argue about that
PS: Spen is powered by the same technology as Wacom drawing tablet, no need to charge it even, personally I prefer it

There are some advantages to Samsung such as DeX or some just prefer the wider aspect ratio
or some just prefer android (read: can sideload apps)

Also, pricing becomes a bigger factor if you look at education store prices, its the reason I went with samsung since its far cheaper in edu store

Honestly do also appreciate what Samsung is doing in the tablet market, they are basically the one that keeps pushing android tablets forward with bringing over apps like LumaFusion to Android

anyways JY99 if you aren't aware of it, look into SoftMaker Office suite, personally I think it's far better than MS Official Apps for use on the tablet

Let's compare iPad Air 5 with Tab S9
iPad Air Wi-Fi 256GB + apple pencil = 4248
Tab S9 Wifi 256 = 3699 promo, normally 4199

now, that isnt a big difference, rm50 difference
so, its a good argument for the ipad air since it has some advantages like ipados

but honestly the older s8 its a better value as it comes with the keyboard case which would add 1k to apple's cost

I got the keyboard case for the s8 back then (bundled for free)

it's nice that it's all integrated but honestly if I had to pay 1k for it or even 500 I wouldnt
you could get a nice high end logitech keyboard (like mx keys mini) for that kind of price

the trackpad is nothing special
and it really does not provide much protection

but the integration with stuff like a key for switching to DeX is nice

However, the Samsung Smart Keyboard Trio 500 which was given for free alongside the PerantiSiswa does have a DeX key
Which is kinda funny considering the tablet they gave out, the A8 doesn't support DeX

So, there's plenty of those on carousell if you want a cheap Bluetooth keyboard with DeX key

Goodnotes for Android is HORRIBLE
It's literally a Chrome browser window
It's missing essential features from the iOS app and is a monthly/yearly subscription which is totally not worth it

With that said, there are some decent android note taking apps like Samsung Notes, Flexcil, Noteshelf, TouchNotes

I personally use Samsung Notes and Flexcil

Education store also gets the same deals as EPP I think?
So go find some relative or friend who is currently studying

usb/bluetooth game controllers will work as long as the game supports it and will be the best experience
keyboard, on paper it should work but games rarely support it
mouse support is no go on android

I got my S8+ from their site back then and it was also XSP

Some sites suggest that they dropped the country codes and XSP covers South East Asia region and not just Singapore

I'm still on S8+, no plans to grab S9+

With that said the biggest difference between the 2 is
SD 8G1 was pretty bad efficiency wise
You get water resistance on S9

But dam those prices are good

a quick search seems to suggest Xiaomi PC Mode is made only for Mi Mix Fold but some people have had success sideloading it onto the mi pad 5

There are a few launchers out there that say they can give you a pc like experience but no idea how well do they work

What kind of apps? multimedia, notes, drawing, gaming....

I'm on S8+ and it hasnt gotten it yet but looking at online youtube videos the 2 major changes I've noticed are

1. Quick Settings menu significantly redesigned, may be a love it or hate it situation
2. New DeX is a joke, it's just android multitasking mode, basically just plonks a taskbar onto your normal home screen, but you do get fast switching between normal and DeX mode
At least Old DeX is still an option, for now.
3.Also I couldn't find a video about it but the folks on reddit say the folder opening/closing animation has been slowed down

and the drop down menu... some like it some hate it

I am quite disappointed that even a budget tablet from 2021 has gotten One UI 6 BEFORE last year's flagship

My Tab S8+ is still on One UI 5.1.1

Personally I do not like using paperlike screen protectors on Samsung tablets as it will absolutely destroy the spen's tip

S7/S8/S9/S9FE are all 11inch (technically s9fe is 10.9 but close enough)

S7/S7FE/S8+/S9+ are all 12.4inch

S8U/S9U are all 14.6inch


in the past, you could even share the same keyboard module between the same size models, like S7+, S7FE and S8+ can all use the same keyboard

unfortunately it all changed with S9 series, S9 series has its own keyboard and isnt compatible with the older ones

I saw it and was blown away by it
there's nothing like it for android so far, only thing similar is MyScript Calculator 2 which converts it to text and is no where near as powerful
